Currently maybe hes luck is looking up, danny will be like fuck you tyrion time to die, then tyrion will be like i killed my dad and then varys will come and be like "im already friends with the queen" and then tyrion join, jorah is forgiven, jorah is cured. Next season danny goes to westros and everyone else dies and she wins, until bran comes and mind controls the dragon but gets trapped in its body oh noes, he kills hodor in a moment he loses control with dragon fire, hating himself and the world he kills everyone with fire maybe a volcano errupts and helps him kill everyone he then dives into the volcano making it explode killing the whitewalkers coming the explosion is soooo big that all the ice in the north melts and everyone is dead. Also most of the army for any noble are conscripted peasants. | ||

Obviously the Lannisters or Tyrells could try to quash the faith with force. Knights are far stronger than unarmed peasants, but considering these are the same people who are growing your food, making your clothes, etc., slaughtering them by the thousands will only get you so far. I think the point of those scenes is to demonstrate how periods of prolonged war affect the non-noble populace of Westeros, and if they get desperate enough even they can make life hell for the powers that be. I still think the proper response from Tommen would have been to slaughter them all when they decided to arrest Margaery. Probably not ideal from the viewpoint of appeasing the masses, but you also need to show you have a backbone and that no authority, even the Gods, surpasses the King's. His mom put him into that mess, but he could have gotten everyone out of it right then and there by showing some strength. Like Varys so eloquently said, the Faith Militant only have power and authority if you allow them to act with power and authority and be perceived with power and authority. | ||

Yeah, honestly last season when it cut to a Bran scene I considered it a waste of six good minutes of episode. I came for the politics and plot twists. His storyline lacks both. Unless he wargs Ramsey's dogs one by one and takes out half the Bolton force. Or a white walker. | ||

Tommen crying I can't do anything while Geoffrey hanged who ever the fuck he liked. He was a crazy murderous brat but people obeyed his command as the king. Robert never cared about no rules... Tyrells supposed to be the 2nd mightiest house let their two most important heirs rot in a dungeon with no response other than old mother begging people... where's the army they beat Stannis with? It's a break in consistency that makes the houses and the throne itself look powerless, while the powerstruggle between these houses for the throne is the whole baseline of the series. Royalty have power because they have the force to back it up. Fuck this dumb writing. Sorry I ranted about this last week as well but it's ruining the series for me. Also, if Danaeris has demanded in her contract that they don't show her boobs, please don't put her in scenes where she has to continuously cover them in an extremely obvious way, as that's annoyingly fourth wall breaking in this series. I did enjoy Jorah showing his fighting skills so all is not lost. Also they didn't kill Bronn which makes me very happy. Theon being a cowardly mutt was also a good choice, he's not a hero type. | ||
