Actually, I think I hate Bran more. Nice Kid, but his PoV segments are boring as all hell and siphon precious time away from the cool characters. Thankfully, that hasn't been the case so far this season ^^ | ||

This whole religious movement in Kings Landing is also coming out of nowhere I feel. I'm pretty sure there would be enough powerful people in the city that would shut down a movement like this from the beginning. Also Margaery basicaly has no power at all ? When Cersei was queen she was always escorted by the Kings Guard. And Margaery cant do anything to get her brother free and is now even arrested herself ? As the fucking Queen ? | ||

I'm hoping the Dorne scenes pick up. 2. Roose is warden in name, but to actually be stable and powerful, he needs the true loyalty of the lords. He has no standing army as Warden, only his own guys and any lords he can convince to follow him. Marrying into the Stark line helps get people lined up behind him. 3. Peasant rebellions and religious revivals were common in times of turbulence, as was the concept that they would direct ire against decadence perceived in the nobility. However, usually they were not coopted by royal authorities (and the notable exception led to the Protestant Reformation), but instead were unceremoniously stamped out. Cersei is hoping to win their favor through patronage. It seems to be working; at least for now, they aren't really going after her and her clan despite them doing all sorts of stuff a million times worse than the Tyrells. 4. The Tyrells are still kinda not believing that Cersei is that fucking crazy. They assume (perhaps rightly?) that she has a gameplan and is trying to pressure them for some reason. As for the kingsguard, my impression is that they serve the king, and also have their personal loyalties. Most (all?) are loyal to Cersei, though they seem to take orders from Tommen. Edit: Also, no, the queen has basically no formal power. So far the queen mother has been staying on top by focusing on running the small council, while the queen has been playing a long game trying to win the king against his mother. | ||

Part of Bolton's calculus was that Cersei wouldn't care enough to go to war over it, and naming another Warden means going to war. Cersei in fact seems to be okay with Littlefinger doing his thing, but presumably plans to not personally interfere, which in practice means recognizing whoever wins the fight and not worrying about it. Littlefinger's endgame is harder to read. It's possible he means to show up with an army of the Vale and just defect to Stannis. It's also possible he recognizes Stannis as a threat (ideologically, they're pretty incompatible and it would be a disaster for Littlefinger if Stannis took the throne) and plans to support the Boltons or something else entirely. | ||
