The way Oberyn was fighting the entire time seemed like an impending fail was bound to happen. The way he died was surprising, mostly. I seriously didn't think Tyrian would kill his dad, though. Voted Tywin.
EDIT: Can we actually consider the Hound to be dead? He was left for dead but, considering the Mountain will live, potentially still capable of surviving a broken leg. Is this one of those certain deaths that we know about because of the book?

Who knows, perhaps there was a fucking maester hiding behind that rock.

I don't think we need a coroner signing a death certificate every time. I think the show made it fairly clear the Hound was going to die there. I actually held my breath for Syrio Forel, but it was always meant to be obvious he wasn't going to make it out alive.

wow except for the hound dying a dogs death... THIS EPISODE WAS FUCKING AWESOME!
fuck me for being pessimistic all the time!

I still don't think Syrio is dead. He was the First Sword of Braavos; I can't picture him losing to a couple random guards. Then again his actor was only a guest actor (much the same way of Ed and Robert) which seems to imply he won't be coming back.

Bringing Syrio back would be terrible random I think. Perhaps theoretically the character could have survived but it would be a bad decision to bring him back imo.

He's probably just chilling in the free cities with Gendry and Tupac.

lol Gendry... that guy's probably still rowing circles around Dragonstone.

Child of the Forest... 10,000 years old and throws like Fifty Cent.
Amazing she could hit anything.

Great post. ^_^

Finally got a chance to watch last night. Kind of disappointing. The stannis scene was kind of silly. 100k wildlings and we see what? 50? The whole episode had a feeling of rushing to tie up loose ends. It wasn't a terrible episode, but it wasn't nearly as good as most of the others. There were a number of "normal" episodes that were far more interesting. Also, no way the hound dies. If they didn't show him die, its because he lives. Calling it now.
Edit: I think the hound lives because I also think the mountain lives. And there's no way either of them can die unless one kills the other. If anything else happens, it will be a travesty.

Maybe Varys, Tyrion and Arya will be a group. There are usually no solo "groups" when filming in GoT.

one of the kingsguard is not a random guard, I think

Who needs to learn how to throw when you have magic to redirect everything.
How do you think they blew up the death star in Star Wars. God damn magic makes everything easy.

I like to imagine she was aiming for the skeletons and accidentally blew up Jojen xD

This episode really felt like 'oh hey we need to kill off some characters almost forgot'
First off jojen dying seemed pretty random
then the hound and brienne meeting in the middle of fucking nowhere, its too much of a coincidence. Sure you could argue thats its possible but its just bad storytelling.
Only Tywin and Shae felt like they made sense

The hound and Briene meeting wasnt nonsense. Both groups were going to the same place at Littlefinger's new castle.

I hope you're right about the Hound. However, the Mountain got immediate medical attention, while it's hard to imagine someone finding the Hound and being willing and able to help him, and they couldn't sell him recovering on his own. But I hope you're right. Maybe the missing dragon helps him LOTR eagle style :p Either way, Arya now is an asshole in my book.
(Edit: I admit last week I argued that the Mountain should be dead ...)

A warning to everyone: Thrones spoilers are going fucking rampant in twitch chats/social media. Just had some stuff spoiled about the next season from like 3 different sites...come on...

Tywin hands down as the most unexpected death. I didn't see that one coming for sure.
