The entire reason he joined the trial was because Tywin said he'd bring the mountain over.

Last i saw, for no money at all, Bronn was going to kill the hound in a pub brawl I dislike the number of book readers in this thread, which someone just admitted to being on the last page, pretty much confirming the suspicion that some characters are having details read into them that come with knowledge not currently available to show watchers. I have yet to see Bronn back down from a fight, certainly not one he was being paid for.

Bronn was ready to go up against The Hound in S2, and also against Meryn Trant AND another Kingsguard when visiting Tyrion in S3. edit: It's in the Blackwater episode, S02E09. The Hound and Bronn get into a (fairly stupid) showdown in front of Lannister soldiers and a couple of whores. Then the bells ring, signaling Stannis' arrival before they can throw down. Do note that The Hound would likely slaughter Bronn in a fight, but he doesn't seem any less ready to take him on, even for free.

I remember the explanation of him able to wield a entire greatsword with one hand. Also jaime was haxed he basically chopped down 50 men before getting captured. Disclaimer: I only read book 1 and 2 which is season 1 and season 2 so everybody should know every part of it already. So not spoiling anything.

he's been someone who has been portrayed as an EQUAL in mind to Tywin, EQUAL in wit to Tyrion, and believed to be an EQUAL in combat to other players such as Jamie. So why do people like him? cuz he's like a bad ass version of all 3 of the Lannisters who seemingly have met their match.

Again, how is he equal in mind to tywin? who the hell has said he is equal in swordplay to jamie? Litterally neither of these things are apparent in the show.

Dunno about being equal in mind, but he is one of the few who speaks to him directly and opposes him. He doesn't bow under from the pressure he omits like everyone else. We haven't seen Oberyn in action, but I recall people talking about his fighting skills? Or maybe I just read it here.. But some of you are saying "why should we like him?". Simply because everything he's done up to now have been some form or another of awesome.

In the same brothel sequence when he stabbed some random Lannister dude and explained to him why he got stabbed like a bitch and what he should do to save his life, he looked to know his way around sharp metal objects... to me Oberyn is a true badass according to GOT standards.

Sure, he seems cool so far, but "as smart as tywin" "as good as jamie the best swordsman in westeros" just, where is this coming from? I just wish bookies would keep their opinions to themselves :| they dont seem to realise how much they spoil stuff for those of us who just want to enjoy the show, and discuss the show with other people who watch the show. Even if you dont realise you're spoiling (not you specifically) the epistemic state of mind of a book reader is just so vastly different it colours everything you see, including characters actions.
