Dexter went from a coldblooded well planned and organized serial killer, to a father of 1, 3 counting the adopted, husband, with 1 empty apartment, a full time job and now killer too that has to run to pharmacies to get medicines in the middle of the night during his killing rituals.
I find this very hard to believe, in sense that I don't think anyone could come up with that rythm of life.
Tons of serial killers live normal lives with a wife and children. That's why whenever they arrest a serial killer all of the killer's neighbors are on t.v. saying "Wow I never would have thought he was a serial killer, he seemed like such a normal person."

Indeed, plus Dexter has been "evolving" as a person. I just hope that they won't end the series with him no longer needing to kill. That would be so dumb.

Dexter has said that one of the main reasons he's pursuing a family is to make it seem even less likely that he could possibly be a serial killer. another way to protect the code blah blah blah
granted he also said that things had become more "complicated" than he had originally planned, but we'll see.

honestly the show was more entertaining when he lived alone i'm all for character development but meh

+ Show Spoiler +Any ideas what that substance was that the Trinity Killer put by the woman he killed? Judging from the scene where he's drinking with what I guess is his dead wife the only thing I can think of is it's something that would trace to her, but I've no idea

+ Show Spoiler +I believe it's his mother's ashes, as he poured the extras from the vial back into an urn. Lundy says that Trinity always kills first a young woman by cutting in a bath, then an older woman (who is mother of two) by convincing her to fall to her death, then a man by bludgeoning. My personal suspicion is that we will discover that Trinity is recreating over and over the trauma of his youth. I think his sister committed suicide by cutting in a bath (I think Trinity blames his father, so possibly his father abused his sister? It's what I'm going with for now), then his mother committed suicide by falling to her death. Then Trinity killed his father in retribution. So yeah, he puts a bit of his mother's ashes by the older woman's body, as a sort of ceremony. Also, when he was drinking alone, he said "You're next." So I think he was (in his twisted head, of course) drinking with his next victim.

Completely agreed. The last two seasons have just been getting progressively worst. I thought last episode was overall one of the worst Dexter episodes I'd ever seen. It was "okay" and watchable, but really bad for a Dexter episode!

Agreed, its not so much that his family sucks, but more that they take so much of his energy that its annoying.

very nice theory

The show was okay when he lived alone but they couldn't do that forever. There's only so many people you can cut up and throw in a river until it starts to get old. It's interesting to see how a serial killer interacts with his neighbors and how he is going to find time to kill people. He killed dozens of people when he lived alone and the first person he kills living with his family he almost messes everything up. That creates a lot more suspense.

Hey, if anyone who is familiar with Pinnacle's Dazzle DVD Recorder 100 and Livestream's procaster want to give me a hand setting up a stream for tonight that would be awesome :D
Currently my issue is that I can't get audio to work on it. I managed to track down the driver software on there site so that is working but the audio input from the software won't work, it doesn't even give me the option to switch the audio input to the Dazzle, but I also am just not getting any sound regardless of what I set the output to so I am unsure of where exactly the problem is occurring.
I am trying something new now, I am trying to run an RCA to 3.5 cable from my cable box to my mic input jack but that doesn't seem to be working either.
Any suggestion or help is welcome :D
Edit: http://www.livestream.com/joesecurity You can watch my progress here!

I don't know about you guys but John Lithgow just doesn't seem to be that menacing or badass of a serial killer as the previous ones. It could be partly because they were anonymous for most of the season, but I think it's largely due to him just not fitting the part. I don't get the feeling he's truly psychotic during his parts. It just looks ridiculous and awkward.

Just give it more time to character develop.

Season 1 -- Rock Star Season -- like a 12 hour Oscar Best Picture Nominee Season 2 -- Less Good -- somewhat suspenseful since the whole season was about Dexter possibly getting caught. The English woman was sort of hot (aside from her botox), and it was super lame that they killed Doakes (he was my favorite character). Season 3 -- Jumped the Shark -- seriously... Miguel was... wtf was this season about? "The Skinner"? who turned out to be some gardener? WTF... they made Dexter's relationship with Miguel central because Jimmy Smits has a huge ego Season 4 -- John Lithgow's trinity killer is super creepy. This season is looking to be better than the Seasons 2 and 3. But they'll never make anything nearly as good as Season 1 again.

Also unless you guys want subtitled stream, someone better help me with my audio issue

Whatever noobz, I will try to get this 100% working with audio this week.
http://www.livestream.com/joesecurity Dexter live stream is up now, there is NO audio, but it is subtitled. Enjoy.
I rigged up audio using a USB Headset as opposed to the dazzle audio in, the quality is okay, better than nothing. I will leave subs on too.

I dont see why people are saying this season is bad. I personally have enjoyed every season quite the same.
Season one, liked it, but wasn't as hooked as I am now, and I didnt like all the flashbacks. Season two, well, little bit far fetched, had much better potential, started really strong... had ups and downs. Season three, little bit unexpected, very good structure, much better too watch, less suspens, dexter was much more in his element. Season four, dexter out of his element. hope this will surprise us. Very good opening episode.
+ Show Spoiler +Trinity killer is extremly well built character. Usually if you show the "monster" it destroys the tension. Now the horror has only got deeper by showing the trinity killer in action. Trinity is obviously creating something from his past. Has big momy issues. Now they showed dexter's admiration for the killings of trinity and that has been seen by old guy. I hope trinities next target is not a character of the show, as that might be far fetched and would have been quite strange that it wouldnt have been mentioned that the third victim is expected to be a cop. Just hope that most of the stuff will be even more surprising than last season
Oh and they caugh a sick serial killer who's last victim was 6 km of my hometown. The storie is like straigh from dexter. My parents are from this 600 people village, in middle of a very big forest. Next town a woman (mid 40ies) is kidnapped while jogging on border of a forest road but she managed to conceal her mobile phone, and manage to call the cops and give all necessary informations about the car and its registration plate (only off by one number) at which point the killer overheard the conversation from the trunk, stops the car (next village, one possible road, my house on border of that road, creepy). He stops to next forest, attach the woman to a tree with electrical wires, suspecting that the cops got information about the car he is driving and that they might be looking for that car. So he drives home to change car and come back for the kill (only 15 minutes drive, but the cops have already set up the research veeeery tight, but he still had time to change the car and while he was changing the car, the woman managed to untied the knots holding her, walked on the road for help, and guess whose car shows first... this time, he take no chances. Kills her, hide body. All completed, no problemo he think as he never thought that the cops knew specificly which car to look for as it was quite common model, grey, small cheap. But yeah as he got home, cops are already there and he is arrested.
Now aftermath.. he had been in jail for few years for raping an underaged girl, but since the 5 years since his released it has been noticed now that a few unsolved woman jogging within 30 km range from his house have disapeared and found dead in the forest but noone had linked the murders (no so obvious as you could think, been so close to paris).
