 Theory time, going from most likely to.. not so likely Hannah is too smart to poison deb. If it turns out she wasn't, I'll be severely dissapointed. She said it herself, there's no way she'd expect Dexter not to figure it out, it's too obvious, which makes deb poisoning herself much more likely. Now, someone mentioned that this would have been too risky, considering she might die etc. My take on it is that she crashed her car while being "sober", only drinking the water moments before doing the deed. Alternatively, LaGuerta is a genius, poisoning Deb, knowing Hannah would be suspect #1 and knowing that Dexter would turn Hannah in, giving Laguerta someone who she doesn't doubt knows the truth about dexter, now with an anger towards him for betraying her. OR Dexter has very self destructing tendencies, and poisoned the water while sleepwalking knowing it would sabotage his potential happiness. | ||

1) Deb poisoned herself, as people have mentioned, and planted evidence (Hannah's hair, etc) to take down Hannah. It seems plausible that with her crazy emotions towards dexter that she would go this far... but seems a little too far. 2) Hannah's accomplice (schraam... forgot her first name) from years back did it. It will be revealed that Hannah didn't poison the counselor, shraam did, and that's where Hannah learned poisoning technique... and schraam decided to kill deb herself, but botched the job. Either way, I think Dex will find out the truth around the same time it's confirmed that he's the bay harbor butcher, and he will somehow save Hannah and they will run off together as fugitives. That would set things up for an awesome last season. | ||

I wonder who will be the one to come out and reveal Dexter's true nature. Could it be the guy posing as Estrada, Hannah, Deb, or maybe Doakes? From the preview we see Hannah fainting. I say she poisons herself, giving her character a very tragic end, but taking Dexter's secret to the grave. Maybe Dexter decides to let Deb turn him in. It looks like Doakes is back with evidence and that is the ace LaGuerta has up her sleeve. Personally I am sad that Hannah and Dexter didn't get to "live happily ever after," even if it is immoral by society's standards of today (two killers getting away unpunished). | ||

First of all, it seemed like Matthews was very suspicious of Dexter in his questioning, and then Dexter tells him Doakes had a boat...when LaGuerta previously said he did not. Shouldn't that have raised some red flags with an experienced ex-detective? I know Doakes could have used a fake name, but really, it was weird to see Matthews believe Dexter so readily. Deb's accident doesn't really make sense from either perspective. Hannah pretty much couldn't have done it, since it was a sealed bottle of water and she'd have to somehow unseal it, slip the drugs in, reseal it, and then presume to know exactly when Deb would drink it. Then she'd somehow have to evade detection from her forensics expert boyfriend who knows her MO. However, Deb poisoning herself while driving doesn't seem plausible either, because she's not stupid. I guess the most likely theory is that she got into the accident and THEN drank the water, but even if that's what she did, a bunch of things have to fall into place for Dexter to think to check that water bottle. Deb seemed fairly willing to admit that maybe Hannah didn't poison her, so she was either pulling some brilliant reverse psychology or just totaling her car in the blind hope that Dexter would check it meticulously. Finally, Dexter turning Hannah in seems like the stupidest idea in the world, because she knows everything about him and all the people he's killed. Shouldn't Deb have realized this all along as well? If Hannah gets caught, she can ruin Dexter's life, and it looks like that may indeed happen. They should have just tried to get along. | ||
