They are walking the path together with Naruto. Side by side, trusting each other etc. He is strong because HIS FRIEDNS ARE TEHRE FOR HIM! (imagine this said in a hilarious mocking voice)

I'm not so sure anymore about that lol. man, the more I think about it, this war seems so anticlimatic >.> I mean, obito was defeated but even then, it just doesn't feel like quite the achievement. Obito could've probably crushed them as soon as he took control of the juubi but he constantly waited and challenged Naruto to try and make him say that he's wrong. From their perspective, it makes sense but from my (and possibly our(reader)), it felt way too predictable and now the tree is going to melt to some giant rasengan with Madara nowhere in sight(it seems). I mean, the tailed beasts are free, juubi is no more and obito isn't controlling the tree so I think it's stopped opening if it was. How is Madara going to take it over or rather accomplish his plan? From my perspective, he's outnumbered big time. The power of the alliance is overwhelming especially when you consider the hokages are there so how is Kishi going to make Madara 'win' the fight or accomplish his goals? It just seems like unless Orochimaru makes some move, that the war is over and essentially we are just waiting for the ending now which is likely that Naruto is hokage(or maybe he let's Sasuke be hokage since there is a parallel to Hashi/Madara situation). It's like those RTS when you just destroyed your biggest opponent, and then you have like 9/10th of the units in the map, but you have to clean up what's left just to end the map.

Like, the one that comes to mind is when Obito smacked both Sasuke and Naruto or was it that he grabbed them with his wings or something(several chapters back before DNA sword). He stood there lecturing Naruto and instead of just attacking since Naruto and Sasuke were both down, gave them a chance to recover. That's what I meant. If he's intent on crushing them(for real), I think he could've done it much much sooner but we know that he was just trying to defeat naruto's spirit. btw, I'm talking physical crushing not spirit crushing lol.

But wasn't Madara fighting the First? Did he defeat him, or give him the slip? Is Orochimaru involved? There aren't enough footsteps going towards the flower for it to be the alliance, but theres more than one set of tracks; Madara would be alone. But weren't they fighting Obito right next to the flower? So the alliance would be walking away from the flower to help the First fight Madara, and the footsteps in the panel are going towards the flower. Some twist coming up IMO. Also, I gotta say I was pretty annoyed when Naruto got thrown in during Kakashi's talk no jutsu to Obito. I mean, here the guy is trying to tell Obito how his words and how the gift of his eye allowed him to see the light in the world, but then.... actually no, that just allowed him to see Naruto who really is the one who gave him faith because he's like... determined and stuff. I understand he shares his name with the title of the Manga, but jeez, does he have to permeate everything? ![]()

After those shots of the moon, the next couple panels of the characters were out of focus or otherwise distorted. I immediately thought it was the sign that the genjutsu was in the process of being cast. Then the very next shot shows what we can only presume is the flower, with a light effect at the top that I took as being the eye opening. But wasn't Madara fighting the First? Infact, at one point, when Madara tells Hashi his plan, they were right in the middle of the tree avoiding it and such. Even if they moved away, I wouldn't think it's that far. The footsteps were leading towards the tree(to me, it seems) but the point you made about not being enough for the alliance is also true. At the same time, it's not Madara or Hashi's either :/ @bolded yes, yes he does

Does this mean it will resumed in Jan? I got no idea why Kishi decided to make a hiatus. It's like prolonging the inevitable. Obito is defeated and all the Tailed Beast are already free. There is no more impact anymore. People say Madara but I don't see him going up against the Alliance+Naruto+Hashirama+Sasuke+Etc. Seriously, I dunno how Kishi can continue the story anymore. All the big stuff has already been done unless Kishi suddenly decides to introduce another upgraded "Akatsuki " or what not.

All the big stuff has already been done unless Kishi suddenly decides to introduce another upgraded "Akatsuki " or what not. I'd wager that it is not only hard to somehow continue the story, but there could also be problems with ending the story. Unlike Pain, there was no seperate battles. Seperate meaning the physical battle to the death and the ideologoical talk no jutsu battle. Obito is officially beat. But he was more or less Talk no Jutsu'd the entire battle. For the satisfying physical battle we got Madara, but so far Madara is also a stump of a character. I wouldn't be surprised if Kishimoto has problems making the Madara battle interesting. It is supposed to be the big showdown, the final fight that the entire manga was leading towards. And also I see no way how Madara is going to be a good villain in such a battle. I think that's why we get a big hiatus now.

Naruto is absent in issue #52, which is next week, and then returns in issue #1 which is the week after that. Weekly Shounen Jump (as the name suggests) goes by weeks, not necessarily by year. Since there isn't exactly 52 weeks in a year, this means that the first issue of each year is actually in the year before. This year's first issue came out in November last year, and the same for the year before. The chapter should be out on the 29th of November, which is 2 days later than usual
