But I do see the predictability of ALWAYS ending a major villain's career with a speech gets old. On the other hand, we haven't seen the end of this yet, so it may not just end with a talk. Maybe Obito was just stage 1, now Madara is stage 2? Obviously Madara planned this out, because he's not been surprised by anything Obito's done yet. He even suspected Obito would fuck up the Rinne Tensei. Strong doubts Madara succumbs to the power of words.

Plot twist: Infinite Tsukiyomi has been in place the entire manga, and Naruto was the one who cast it.We get an entire backstory about how Naruto actually was super angsty and angry because he had no family, Sasuke was the guy who overcame his emo-ness and their positions were kinda reversed, but Naruto cast Infinite Tsukiyomi to create a false reality for himself where he's the hero he always wanted to be. He doesn't know he cast it and gave himself the power of talk no jutsu.

I mean, if Kishimoto's idea was to make Naruto as a hero someone who shows leniency/mercy to his enemies and gives them a second chance, then all of the talk no jutsu is the simplest way he can show that to the readers. It just gets annoying that we know how he's going to win, not that he might have to kill someone. And I understand most shonen manga have the main hero never kill anyone, but there are situations where someone is just past the point of saving (ie., Madara). I guess some examples of shonen heroes killing villains include Goku, Yusuke, Vash and Edward Elric.

Because I'm sitting here thinking about it, and I don't think he's directly killed someone. I think the closest he came was almost killing Jiraya (during his training in the middle of the time skip). main characters of Shonen mangas never kill anyone they jsut beat them up really bad and the person miraculously survives + Show Spoiler + yes i know thats too general

Then we get a pseudo final fight between Sasuke and Naruto; I know it is way too crazy to happen. who knows, this is Naruto after all lol. It's just that every enemies in the series (almost) is a misguided guy who went on the wrong path of his life because of a tiny mistake, or a tiny misunderstanding. Some of them could have been nice guys if they worked under someone else (Haku, the 5 dudes under Orochimaru...). But the only one close of being a real bad guy is/was Orochimaru. Since they aren't true enemies, talk no jutsu will always be the answer no matter what. I can see Madara be talk no jutsu'd because of his flashback. One of the main problems - I think - is the lack of really strong justice entities. In One Piece, when an opponent that can't be teach to be nice with the use of punches and some talk is beaten, he's most likely not strong enough anymore to be a threat (no more crew), or he can be arrested by the marines. In Bleach, even if Soul Society appears weak in the fights, they can deal with the defeated enemies... In Naruto, every opponent is just too strong, and if he can't be reasoned, he has to be killed no matter what, aka Naruto kicks his ass because he's one of the few who can, and someone else kills the dude. It's mostly the pattern of the antagonists who hurts Naruto imo. Misguided guy, way too strong, but he dreamt about being Hokage and thus has to be brought into the right path by Naruto.
