That site cites the Shonen Jump article. Japan airing is July 30. Viz's website will get it the week after on August 6 under the name Naruto Shippuden: Kakashi Chronicles. | ||

It wouldn't be too farfetched to say that Orochimaru was promised eternal life if he followed Madara, since Madara obviously has the information he wants since he's survived death at the hands of the First Hokage. I'll admit that I was jumping the gun a bit, but I still don't like that you're shooting down the idea of Danzo being Madara. Madara was the leader of the Uchiha clan, if Tobi is Danzo and Danzo wanted to become Hokage, he wouldn't kill his own minions who were capable of fufilling the overthrow o___o See, there'd need to be a LOT of explaning for this theory to be true. | ||

+ Show Spoiler + Madara didn't really "run" Akatsuki, Pain was doing that. He gave Pain intel but decision making was up to Pain afaik. For all we know Tobi is just an "image" projected by Madara/Danzo(Sasuke's attack went right through him). Madara tells Sasuke where Danzo is and as a result Sasuke is heading toward the Kage meeting where he isn't exactly welcome. Sasuke is being manipulated by Madara, which is exactly what Itachi didn't want happen, hence him giving Sasuke Amaterasu. Right now Sasuke is walking into a big trap and his death will allow Madara to become the only Magekyou(control 9 tails) user left alive. Madara also helped Itachi wipe out the Uchiha because he wanted revenge on those who didn't listen to his warnings about the Senju becoming too powerful. There was no way the planned Uchiha revolt was going to succeed, not with Itachi on the Village's side. Madara/Danzo becoming Hokage is just to control the hierarchy in Konoha so that he can monitor Naruto closely and ultimately take the 9 tails from him. | ||

Madara is said to be the brains behind akatsuki all the way... If you notice, he was talking about how he planned to "use" Pain's ability. That does not come from someone who gave the steering wheel away. He was behind everything, directly or indirectly. Madara is far more powerful than Sasuke, if he is indeed milking him for all his worth he would only send him where he is certain to win, and will just kill him when it is necessary. There is no use in sending Sasuke to his death. Also, Kakashi has Mangekyu sharingan, and I'm assuming Danzo does also since he is a powerful ninja. | ||

Yea... That's what I mean. It seems like there can be no drama/conflict in the Naruto universe without one of the typical tragic storylines being the underlying reason for their torment. | ||
