he had no reason to, hes immortal, the Jyuubi is unstoppable and Obito wasnt about to be killed so he decided to have some fun and toy around with the alliance (with the added side effect of creating a safe zone where he could work undisturbed though taht didnt turn out)
as soon as he got bored of slaughtering the alliance and Obito became endangered he went ahead with the plan

intresting chapter to say the least, I thought Obito was gonna die, not get a huge powerup. Althou we cant be sure exactly how much stronger he will get. So alot of chapters more just for this fight, wonder if Kakashi will be able to get out and fight again
