Well, wasn't the best of chapters, was not the worst chapter (I reserve that for the PREVIOUS chapter...50k 40k causalities oh my...) The flashback was a nice touch, but nothing special really. Still better then Bleach by a long shot though, I am ready to rip my throat out every time I see Kubo draw blank panels with 90% text. In Naruto at least you have a sense of where they freaking are...although the artwork has gotten lazy too.

Edit: This was a critique of chapter 538, which is the one the guy below me listed.

Well I really loved this article, I dont like how the ninetails suddenly has reason but I guess that's to expected.

I didn't like this chapter, because I was all excited for stuff to actually start happening, and then naruto has to have this pointless conversation with the 9 tails for the entire chapter (including flashbacks, god I hate flashbacks).

There's definitely been worse chapters though.

It's the fact that this "anime" (more like manga we are discussing about at this point actually) had some meaning to it when it was fresh and new. The characters did teach us as readers a valuable lesson in life, and had characters we could emphasize with. The new ones...well at this point most of us are lamenting on how the author does not seem to know how or where to write anymore.

This chapter was absolutely horrible, we're in the middle of supposedly exciting arc, we've just come out of about a dozen really bad filler chapters, and now we have this chapter that does absolutely nothing to advance the story. All it does is reaffirm things that we already knew. The one thing it did do was plant the seed for the Kyuubi coming over to Naruto's side but that could've been accomplished in like 2 or 3 pages, not the entire chapter and I'm really confused about the mini flashback. That seems like something the anime team would put in to lengthen an episode, why half of a chapter was spent on it I have no idea.

At least this regarded the main character and we didn't get Hanzo vs Mifune round 3.

i actually really liked the chapter and the relational buildup between naruto and the nine tailed fox. perhaps their relationship will be more than 1 panel rages at each other and develop into an eventual octo-killerbee relationship?
