To me it seems like an opporunitnity for some cheesy verbal action and getting rid of a character who serves no purpose anymore. | ||

Naruto hasn't been good since the two Akatsuki guys in the Sand village. Well, Jiraiya against Pain was good, but that's about it. | ||

The story has become so heavily centered around JUST Naruto and Sasuke that a lot of great minor characters (Neji, Lee, Shikamaru, Hinata, etc.) are a bit neglected. To me its a bit refreshing that a powerful character like Gai can combat one of the stronger villains in the manga. Especially because Kishi basically foreshadowed that Gai would be the one to finish him off with their previous two encounters. It all ties together imo. | ||

YOU HAVE THE FREAKING POWER OF THE NINE TAILS FOX WHY NOT USE THAT TO HEAL. JEEZ it's been stated hundres of times that he gained faster 'recovery' passively just by being a jinchuuriki for the nine-tails, and now that he has 'full-control' he should be able to use it, what is wrong with these people. | ||

The only good part is that we get to see Gai do something but it is disappointing that he is just busting out the gates instead of having to think. I always felt his character had a lot of potential. | ||
