We are finally getting toward an end with that painfull arc... I was gonna recall what bothered me with that useless tournament but :

A round of applause for Universe 11. Truly built up to be a credible threat.
This post sums a part of it... Oher universe didn't have true interraction, our Universe did basically everything, it cut all the fun (imo.

This arc was really good imo. Also Ultra Instinct is a legitimately interesting development since it's different than just simply reaching another new level of Super Saiyan. I feel like there's some really good set up for upcoming arcs (possibly fighting Beerus after mastering Ultra Instinct, Great Priest doing shady stuff, more tournaments with the remaining Universes, etc).

Too many power inconsistencies (even tough that's super all around), U7 doing everything. UI is a different thing but goes against DB in general. Since the very first fight arc DB was about training the body strenght past its limits. Too many gimmicks.
DB/Z proved that plot can be really interesting even without gimmicks or very special combat abilities. No need to add those.
And Super drags too much. Typical Toei dragging fasion. Fuck Toei honestly.

Agreed. This tournament has easily provided setup for at least 500 more episodes.

What shady stuff has the Priest done? Just some of his children are shady as crap haha.

I'm talking about in the upcoming arcs. Based on what we've seen of him he could potentially do something shady. Never said he did anything yet though

Toriyama, like any creative person, is subject to bouts of extreme stupidity and short-sightedness. This is why you need editors to catch this stuff.

I don't think that was Toryama decision.
It's about Battle of Godz and Its marketing. It had to have DBZ publicity so it couldn't have new characters designs, yet it couldn't be right after buu was defeated, it would be a bit 'too soon feel' and they wanted Videl pregnancy plot point.
Worse than their designs is goten and trunks not going to the tournament because childs. They are older now than what gohan was when he fough Cell, and Goku was 100%fine leaving him that responsibility when he still had time remaining on the chamber. And Gohan was sent to fight sayans and train with a demon when he was so small. The he went on a fucking journy to a different planet. No wonder Chi Chi then locked him on books.

Alson toryama involvement is just dropping some story points. Also!why anime and manga are so different.

The manga is basically how the anime would look if Tori really had his hands on it. While I enjoy it more and wish it were the canon of the anime, part of me enjoys having 2 different DBS to enjoy. I just want to see Goku using Hakai in animation, so good.
