I'm picturing more of them jumping from rock to rock desperately trying to force the other guy out before they both fall. I can imagine it happening while they are both in UI mode and we basically watch the fight happen in slow motion as the ultimate 1v1 as they fight.

It's a welcome relief to know that allllll the nobodies are finally gone. Maybe we still get some throwaway fight scenes here and there, but I expect these next episodes to be generally better. I'm still waiting to see how Goku pulls it out to beat Jiren. Because obviously he has to do it.

Thats what I am counting on also.

Well, obviously, unless Toriyama or however you spell his name does a twist and Universe 7 is dead and no more dragonballz. PERIOD, THE END.
Which I do not suspect as they are making a profit off of this show.

So with only 2 Universes left, since the focus is so heavily on Universe 7 all the time, let's take a moment to recall Universe 11's remaining fighters' contributions to the Tournament of Power.
Jiren: eliminated Maji=Kayo & Hit (solid), refused to eliminate Kale, refused to eliminate low-stamina Goku, didn't give a shit when overpowered fusion characters were threatening to destroy the ring
Dyspo: got the shit beaten out of himself by Hit, fucked up against Maji=Kayo, is gonna get the shit beaten out of himself once more soon
Toppo: delivered the sickest burn to Vegeta but other than that has spent the last 39 minutes of the ToP just watching his teammates get eliminated
Going into this final, deciding match, Universe 7 has eliminated 50 out of their 70 rivaling competitors, losing but 5 fighters in the process. Universe 11 has lost 7, for the whopping gain of... 2 eliminations by Jiren.
A round of applause for Universe 11. Truly built up to be a credible threat.

By having Vegeta able to inflict damage in normal SSB (could be he unlocked SSB/UI), I think they are either saying Vegeta is stronger than Goku in UI, or Jiren didn't get to recoup his energy enough.

I don't understand how Jiren hasn't had enough time to recoup his energy... He really hasn't spent much of it besides breaking Hit's time skip attack and against UI Goku. Other than that, Jiren hasn't really broken a sweat, and he's done basically nothing compared to U7. All he does is just sit around and meditate. He's put in about as much effort into this tournament as Frieza has. Toppo and Dyspo haven't done much either, as Elentos pointed out (for all the Pride Trooper patrolling they claim to do, they're awfully lazy). But I agree with you that Vegeta is appearing stronger vs. Jiren than Goku was, so I wonder if Jiren is getting nerfed.

I don't think Jiren is getting nerfed. It's been stated that Vegeta hasn't fought seriously and gone full power. But yeah there is no way Jiren may be struggling due to not having time to recoup his energy, he hasn't broken a sweat this whole tournament.
Gah that next episode looks amazing.

I don't think Vegeta hitting Jiren means that he's stronger than Goku in UI. Goku in UI was dodging/blocking all of Jiren's attacks and hit Jiren a couple of times.

The beginning of preview shows Jiren dispatching both SSB Goku and Vegeta at once pretty much as expected. It doesn't look like Vegeta's getting attack UI next - probably some form of mastered / contained Blue like Goku in the anime versus Zamasu.

This. The second Golden Frieza LOLwhacks Dyspo it gets to a 5vs2, so... They better hype up Jiren even more. Wishing you all an Oh ho ho ho ho !

All we can do is wait patiently and see if Vegeta had something hidden under his sleeve. I am expecting Vegeta to have some UI like Goku did, because they are rivals and they have to keep true to the story line. Then again, I dont know if there is anything past Dragon Ball Super as partaking in the tournament of power seems to be the end all be all, nothing greater then that. So their is no purpose to see anything or obtain anything higher. As one just does not exist.

Is there confirmation there is more after the tournament of power? I heard rumours of a movie but honestly the tournament seems like, as BloodC writes, the end all be all, like...we have references of every dragon ball movie, even things that arent cannon, the strongest fighters of ALL the universes are fighting.....what can possibly go next? Only the angels i guess.
Maybe frieza does something and that leads into the next arc.
Also I doubt vegeta gets UIat all, it simply makes no sense for him to do so in this tournament.

are they taking a week off for the next episode?
sorry yeah, they're taking new years off. i should have read a page or two back.

Yes, there is an arc after the tournament of power. No further details but we have that much.

The rumors of a movie were confirmed a week or 2 ago. December 2018 is when it will come out. The move is about the origins of the Sayains.
There is a next arc which is supposedly starting immediately after the TOP.
I don't think Vegeta will get UI, but it would make total sense to give it to him and change things up for once .
|
I think Vegeta getting attacking UI and Goku having Defensive UI makes the most sense moving forward. I'd like to see Gohan somehow gain both through osmosis or something but because of all the throwbacks I feel like the end is going to be all hope being lost and Jiren eliminating Goku, Vegeta, and Freeza and Gohan doing a rage headbutt to knock Jiren off and save U7

Also I doubt vegeta gets UIat all, it simply makes no sense for him to do so in this tournament. Not exactly all the universes, there. They did leave some room for future challenges. Aside from some new enemy we've never seen, there could still be some fight with the GoD's themselves. I'm secretly hoping for a rematch with Beerus. But also there's the angels. A couple of them, including the grand priest, are a little shady-shade. It leaves some doors open.

Honestly not sure how well I'm going to cope with no DBS this Saturday. Fuck this planet.
