In the next episode preview there is an image that showcases all u7 warriors except for 18. Since google is smiling on that pic I'm assuming they already beat u3 and so 18 is the only one going out. Just a guess though.
There are a couple interesting thoughts I've had though. First of all this tournament seems like a, bad, homage to DGB as a whole. That's why we got Broly, hatchiyac, dr gero, the Android's representing cell saga, frieza representing the frieza saga..we were going to get buy but I guess mystic Gohan counts, or maji kayo. Roshi representing early DGB... I think this is the last arc of the show...but if not it is at least a tribute to all of dragon Ball. Maybe we'll even see some GT representation, maybe evil dragon or a baby clone or something.. although we already got him.in a way when that purple thing took over Vegetable.
Finally isn't it interesting that frieza is in the tournament but has done basically nothing? My theory is that freeza was a last minute addition, as evidenced by the early intro of the tournament that still showed buu even after the tournament was a couple of episodes old. This change made it so frieza had no role to play in the tournament as the episodes were already written. Then as the tournament progressed they were able to rewrite the story to fit him in. At the moment he's very clearly saving energy and relying on Goku to take their enemies out, even wanting him to go ultrainstic and being disappointed when Goku didn't achieve it back the gravity guys. He's obviously planning something...I'm 100 sure he's the villian of this arc or the next.

I really want this super fusion thing to end up taken out by a huge Frieza planet destroyer thing. I imagine him taking out the fusion robot with a sphere twice the size of the arena. Frieza should really have a universe to his name.

Assuming 18 falls to Paparoni Robot (sic) next episode, we get to top 5 U7 vs top 3 U11. A mildly interesting setup to put it kindly, and one without a lot of tension to boot - there's a reasonable Vegito scenario in which U7 walks out of that with 5 fighters still standing (and nary a bruise in sight for all but Goku). It's a shame lazy show writers took the copout way of too many parody characters and too many peanut gallery comments in the ToP. In hindsight so far the only truly epic moments have come from serious Goku and Hit.
Now the only positive is that since writers are gonna play the 'Goku still depleted' card 200%, it's finally all about Vegeta - does he get Attack UI or get jobbed by Jiren first ? Only the former would do him justice and yet... Maybe we're gonna need a Jiren transform for any tension to come back, at that rate.

I really don't think Vegeta gets jobbed per se this time. My impression is that there is a very conscious effort in DBS to break out of some of the old archetypes. Plots are getting resolved differently and more characters seem to be serving crucial roles.
Even android 18 has been a notably positive contributor. Krillin and Tien were total fodder, but whatever. They are supposed to be fodder.
Overall, I expect to be very satisfied with Vegeta this arc. I don't think it will be another Hit kinda deal. He will do something he was needed for other than "showing Goku how Jiren fights" or whatever.

Not a bad episode today. Preview looked cool. Last second God of Destruction reveal was great.

Yea 18 was already Injured and 17 is a lot more powerful then her now since he trained and she didn't so it was a good move.

Next episode has me past hyped. This episode was really good. Loved the 5 person tag team in the end. 18 was barely above Krillin level of useful. If she wasn't an android (duh, right?) she would have been on Sakura's level.
VEGETA!!!! He's getting his time to shine and I can't wait to fucking watch it.

Yeah this episode was pretty good, but next episode looks amazing. Sadly we have 2 weeks

Vegeta somehow landing a good blow on Jiren while in Blue when Goku with kaio ken SSB was nothing to him. Will be interesting to see it. Apparently Toriyama announced + Show Spoiler +Vegeta getting a powerup next year so I guess this will be it?

Enjoyable chapter, the best thing is that we got no more fillers, and the main fights are going to happen.

Frieza vs Dyspo. Toppo vs 17 and then Gohan. Vegeta and Goku vs Jiren. Those are the matchups next year. Count it.

Freezer will make mince meat out of Dipshit. We already evaluated his major shtick: he has super speed, but he has a mediocre fighter's instinct and for a skilled opponent he will choke as soon as he can't just use his speed. I mostly imagine that Freeza will just toy with him for a while and make it painful before he moves on to showing how powerful he really is, either versus Jiren or after. They wouldn't show that Freeza is so powerful without having it mean something.

Freeza specifically will not engage jiren. He'll engage goku and vegeta after they take out jiren
Once goku is in post ui exhaustion and jiren is gone no one else comes close to golden freeza

You know, with all this teasing of "OH MY GOD THIS ATTACK IS SO STRONG IS XYZ PLANNING ON DESTROYING THE ENTIRE STAGE?" I'd be disappointed if the stage doesn't end up destroyed at some point.

Just taking a step back.. this has been a consistently fun and enjoyable show to watch for quite a long time, now. No major complaints. I just have fun watching it, and I like it.
It's kind of a rarity, and with how many expectations and history I have with Dragonball, it's surprising that they're doing so well.
