Why don't they make them easy for humans and hard for titans to navigate? Not even talking about 3d gear. Just build a lot of escape ways towards the inner wall that are ~1m high. Humans can get through, titans can't. Have basements with small entrances as bunkers. Escape tunnels in a size that lets humans pass, but not titans. Alleyways which are ~60-80 cm broad in between houses. Of course you can't have every road like that, or it is practically impossible to do anything in that city. But you can have some. You give your population more time to escape to safety by making them able to take escape ways through which titans can't follow without making a huge hole. I thought no one had seen a single Titan in about 100 years, at the start of Shingeki. And if that was the case, I'm pretty sure some priests or governments would have covered the fact it happened. Something like "Well we haven't seen a titan in 50 years but just in case, we'll build some paths to trap them, however don't worry, it will never happens." is out of the question for me. People wanted to forget about the mankind genocide, and being able to build a normal looking town is one way to do it - especially when the only way at that time to prevent Titans from attacking was the wall. No 3D gear, at least. pretty much this, humans were just so confident in the wall they never assumed a Titan could ever breach it also maybe they never built the city? they never built the walls so maybe they didnt decide the alyout of the city themselves
an even simpler answer would be that whoever built the walls simply used an existing city

that is simpler but find it unlikely there were citys already arrnaged in such perfection that they could build the walls and citys stood at each cardinal direction

They never built the city, it is revealed on the covers of the manga that human found the city when they arrived to this new world. I made a post on that.

there were very few of the nobles who got on the ships and the voyage didn't go well while half of the people went MIA.
the walls existed in the new world, the survivors aim to live a peaceful life inside the walls.

Well, I'm pretty much caught up now, and I have to say, they better have some good reveals soon, having an entire talking episode with no info is shitty as hell. (EDIT: uh, I was up to 46 at this point thinking I'd read all of them)
Anyways, here are some thoughts/questions I'm having I hope people would comment on
1) What's up with annie crying once eren is taken from her? Are they really gonna try to show some noble cause for annie/berthold/reiner? Berthold aside, it seems annie and reiner have some sort of feelings or whatever.
2) The author gave us the letter "s" when they were talking about the enemy. Pointless addition if said word hadn't already been mentioned. S I can only think of "Sina". They have made it a point to make the leaders and authorities from there look like scheming conspiracist politicians, and make everyone from the sorounding walls seem like decent folk and all of that. The very first thing that bothered me early on is how they just mentioned how "paradoxical it is that the best titan killers go to the military police to not fight titans". This, in addition to the mentioned "lack of support" for the survey corps (and probably many other reasons) make it obvious that the higher-ups don't really give a shit about the titans outside. Also, historia seems to be pretty important for knowing the insides of the walls. Again, seems like some plan to strike Sina, the obscure place we know nothing about.
3) There were some people here speculating about what eren's father's vaccine really did. If he's giving his son a vaccine that will help him survive, regenerate, and all that shit, why would he be crying about it? I really don't think that "because he's making his son a monster" fits the bill...
4) What the fuck is that monkey retard titan? Why is he throwing titans from across the wall?? I have no theories here... does anyone have faintest clue as to how he fits in?
5) What is the meeting with irvin right before the wall starts being attacked? I'm confused if the latest chapter is still before or after the meeting where irvin is explaining his actions. I'm wondering if these "actions" are referring to something that hasn't happened yet..
6) Since it's pretty clear here that the author doesn't add random scenes, how come the bald trainer guy from waaaay back is the only person in the show so far to have known eren's father? I don't see if it's just a small insignificant "cool" factor or if there will be any surprises later.
Anyways, it seems rather evident that sooner or later the human titans are going to made to look like the good guys (shadow of the colossus, anyone?), and the people from inside the wall the bad guys. I just don't see how exactly this will happen, and why the hell would eren be so pivotal. Maybe it's basement-related?

yea thats been pretty heavily implied

forcing your son to turn into a monster giving him the heavy cross of having to painfully fight the titans until he dies is enough to cry for

the human-titans are the good guys... from there point of view
in large scale conflicts like this theres not really a "good guy" and "bad guy"

I'm not sure I agree, I think there is at least the "bad guy". The way they made the king look was to me classical "bad guy". The thugs wanting to kill mikasa and her mom are clearly "bad guys". Of course, one can always argue that they also acted out of personal motives, but I'm arguing "bad guy" in the classical cliched sense.
The other two parties, which are the ignorant humans and the titan humans, seem to be clashing, despite both of them being (not cliched) "good guys", due to the classical "bad guy".

your taking what im saying entirely out of context the thugs who wanted to CAPTURE Mikasa and her mom were definently bad guys, but the Humans are not at war with them so obviously i was not talking about them was I?
who si "good" and who is "bad" is entirely a matter of perspecitve, one mans justice is another mans murder, so in such a large scale conflict (wall humans VS Titan humans) neither side is "good" or "bad" both of them have reasons to be doing what there doing, both would identify themselves as the "good" side and the other as the "bad' side
so there are no "good guys" and "bad guys" in a scenario like this

See, I think you are being contradictory in saying that the thugs who wanted to capture Mikasa and her mom were definitely bad guys. Can't they too be included in this matter of perspective?
The classical sense in which you are agreeing that those thugs are 100% bad guys is the same one I'm using to state the the Political Schemist politicians inside Wall Sina are being represented as 100% bad guys.
Regarding the wall humans vs. titan humans, the show is trying to portray exactly that which you said, they both have their goals and are willing to sacrifice to achieve those goals. I'm just calling them "good guys" in the sense that we can relate to them in some good way, because even though they do bad things, they probably have a nobler cause in which we will sympathise with later on, once we learn them.
What I was arguing, however, is that the show definitely has "classic 100% bad guy" elements in it, which you agree with.
Also, I disagree that both would say they are the good guys and the other are the bad guys. The wall humans clearly see it that way, but the titan humans definitely don't think the wall humans (i.e. Recon Corps protagonists) are the good guys.
Anyways, this is rather pointless, this is just semantics. I guess I'm just stating the obvious that we will be given something to which will make the titans not seems like "100% bad guys" (which was what I thought when watching the anime for the first time)

no there part of the wall humans so its up to them to judge whats good and whats bad
unless the wall humans have no laws against human trafficking and murder (and if they didnt Erens pappy wouldnt ahve called the Cops) then there bad guys

prove that there actions are in any way endangering the lives of anyone for all we know there schemes are the only reason it took 100 years for one of the titan humans to smash a door down
just becuase there schemers doesnt mean there up to no good

Hey guys, took the liberty of fudging some back-story for Reiner based on something I could see his character doing. The SnK sub-reddit started their weekly character discussion threads yesterday, with week one being... Levi. I'm sorry, he's a bad-ass and all, but he's barely developed so far. Pretty fucking flat. So, what did I say in protest? Let's talk about motherfucking REINER BRAUN.
This is the first OC I've made in a while for a fandom. Felt good to finish. Hope you like it.

I'm calling it now. There are other citys, they were made by human-titans as well with walls. Also the human-titans are trying to save the human-titans in the walls from an evil evil plot of the human's politicians.

Will be this same thing we always saw in animes. The highest ups/the king/forefathers etc had done something very evil and bad for humanity in the past. Now they try to cover it up and use the rest of humans to get rid of their doings. While the human titans want to "free" the "truth" or something like that. Boring.
