On Channel 4 this Sunday, a brand new international trailer for Prometheus will be unveiled during the first commercial break of the latest episode (to air in the UK) of Homeland confirm Brand Republic. 20th Century Fox has teamed with the broadcaster in a special event which will see fans Tweet their reactions with the #areyouseeingthis hashtag. A selection of the responses will then be featured in a 40 second TV spot during the next ad break. The "Weyland Investor Blog" on Tumblr also reveals that the film has received a provisional 15 rating in the UK. Whether or not this means that it will ultimately get a PG-13 classification in the US remains to be seen, but it seems unlikely at this point. A new behind the scenes video has been released with some new scenes.

Holy shit. Even if this film sucks in the end, they already deserve an award for their trailers.

In Alien, the Nostromo was an old decrepit ship, a towing spaceship. In Prometheus, it's very different. This is the leading/admiral ship of the Weyland-Yutani fleet. He's much bigger and has state of the art navigation and exploration equipement. That being said, the interior achetecture is very close. Some aspects of the Prometheus evoke directly the Nostromo but here everything is in perfect shape. If I had to compare them I would say that the Prometheus is the latest high end executive Cadillac car and the Nostromo is an old Ford Pick up.

An SFX French magazine interview with Production Designer Arthur Max. i dont understand why some fanboys get all huffy about this if ridley scott just disregarded most of the technological advances in special effects made since 1979 just to satisfy some sense of "internal consistency in the fictional universe he created with Alien" these same fanboys would be screaming at how shit the movie looks.

I agree. The most common comparison used against Prometheus is the technology from the prequels and the original trilogy of Star Wars. I can understand why the production team is doing this since the film is targeted for today's audience. I mean, it is obvious that we are living in a more advanced age than the 70's during the creation of the first Alien. It is common for people to have iPads, iPods, smart phones, etc.The main link is the visual consistency of corridor designs, door designs, etc. There are some shots of inside the Prometheus ship that looks like the Nostromo. Besides, the most common possible answer is that after all, the Nostromo is a deep space mining ship while the Prometheus is a high tech scientific ship. If I can remember correctly, the Colonial Marines tech manual described the Nostrmo to be a couple of decades old already.

As long as there are pitch dark sequences with epilepticly flashing light while the person being filmed is covered in sweat then technology doesn't matter, it's a freaking Alien movie ![]()

That being said, he could be skirting the truth or telling an outright lie so as not to ruin part of the movie (which I wouldn't mind :p)

She could have mistaken the new creatures for the old ones, or just plain not known the difference though. Point being, nothing is for certain ![]()
