I think so, because Horyang has a lot more to offer to the story. Maybe Xia Xia was saying so to focus Baam on defeating Novick and Ran, and possibly had some part in the trick of having Horyang dead. I'm fairly sure she has something in league with Cassano, and this might be some trick to expose Baam's skill or something. (But Horyang seemed pretty surprised when Cassano attacked him, so it could be wrong, but it may be some weird illusion technique or stun attack)

FUG is insanely powerful and got high rankers on their side, Baam knows this so he knows they can't beat FUG anytime soon. The problem is that the masked FUG guy is having surveillance on him so the evil FUG guy's minions should intervene, I see no way Siu can get away from this situation other than Baam killing the FUG guys and then the "good" FUG guy resolving the situation by saying the evil FUG guy was acting on his own without his knowledge. Maybe the "good" FUG guy will also intervene directly in the fight. The ambush I think is unrelated to FUG. I think it has to do with some new faction related to the research of the ignition weapons being augmented into people. Maybe one of Headon's factions (whatever that is) enemies since he was the one who saved right hand guy who got assassinated, assuming he was the target and not a bait for Baam. You have to remember that another super powerful organization has their eye on Baam (Wolhaiskong/Wing Tree). Yuri has been after him this whole time and Urek was impressed enough by Baam in their encounter that he has people watching Baam as well. It will really have to be a confrontation between FUG and the Wing Tree members that help Baam leave FUG. It's hard to imagine any other way for it to happen unless Baam stays with FUG long enough to get powerful enough to beat them, which seems highly unlikely.

So I think that whatever plans/whatever Wingtree people want with him that's gonna come in much later in the story. As for Horyang I don't think he's quite dead yet. Way too quick of an ending for what was a pretty major character in part 2 and for the main character/one of the main characters in this mini plot arc.

I bet they just talk, with Viole never letting on that he is Baam, and then go their separate ways, meet again at the factory round and thats when shit actually starts to happen. You can't predict SIU. How can Koon not recognize Baam. That's like not recognizing your best friend, even though they've changed hairstyles, you still know it's them. Just like how Baam recognizes Koon despite all these years. Even though all of the Koon family looks the same to me.

The Wing Tree isn't a direct opponent of FUG but the 10 houses are. The Zahard princesses are deeply involved in all that mess seeing how the creepy little girl with Opera prevented Koon from accessing some sort of data shortly after he deflected the attack.

Are there any other mangas similar that people can recommend? One Piece is the closest. Both have a constantly expanding universe. Both have a near unreachable goal set at the end (Getting one piece and reaching the top of the tower). And both series can go from hilarious to very dark very quickly. The difference is that ToG has much better pacing, especially early on and ToG feels a lot more threatening for the main characters. One Piece is more light-hearted than ToG, but has incredible arcs and moments that really bring the manga above most others. Incidentally Gator and Zoro have the same motto, "Leave it to luck."

They both want the new irregular monster Baam though and that's probably enough to make them oppose each other.

Yeah, I keep up to date with One Piece as well. They both have their own merits but I like the artstyle and world of ToG a lot more than OP.

Not really many other good mangas in the adventure/action that I've needed re-reads for and honestly OP and TOG are the only ones where you see the additional depth/details in the storyline aside from other psychological mangas like liar game, death note, etc.

Also, Holyland is fucking amazing if you can get past the author's development in the first few chapters. http://www.mangapanda.com/729/holyland.html http://www.mangapanda.com/530/the-breaker.html

Veritas was amazing, but then the author got his series cut and the ending was meh, and I don't think we're going to get a sequel. Like Zerg Russian said The breaker (original) is good... much better than New waves in my opinion but hopefully new waves is looking like it's starting to pick up the pace. Holyland was a solid/good read overall. I wouldn't reread it though.

Apparently the ToG story is connected to a larger one called the Talse Uzer Story, kind of like Final Fantasy and how they all are placed in the same universe. The world can continue long after ToG, but I doubt SIU could release a chapter daily, even if he got ten extra artists and writers with him.
