That being said despite the weird Yama flex and really stupid Khun powerup I like this arc 10x better already than the last 2 large ones. There's still a lot of time to screw up, but the fact that people use less AoE and more single target spells, that the games and surprises are back and that Baam fights mostly his own fights while the rest do their stuff is exactly what the series needed. Now if the rezzes subside and someone important dies I'm a happy turtle again.

I dunno what happened during this last chapter. Somebody shot Doom with something? Evankhell got hurt? Something something about ancient powers.

And Doom likely wants the fang back before facing Yama again, so he has a reason to play for time. To boot there's a chance Paul knows the elder is coming, which would be good for them. @herMan: Evankhell mainly got overpowered, not wounded. And one of her "make the sky burn"-attacks summons a burning elephant, which was declared to be an "ancient power" and it was made clear that the Elder has a similar power.

Also why does he even need a team in the first place? This is a DBZ manga where every character is useless except for the top 1-2. Yama, his brothers, Evankhell, edgy Robinhood, Karaka, and literally everyone in this arc is cannon fodder at best. If they invade Jahad's territory, all it takes is one family head to show up and the battle is over because that's how power levels work. If you want to write a manga about wars and politics and alliances, don't create Korean Superman that ruins the whole thing.

Probably nothing compared to Urek or one of the 10 chucklefucks. Those are the people you need on your team to fight Jahad. Also why does he even need a team in the first place? Apparently right now Baam & company are gathering forces to free Ha Jinsung, not to topple Jahad.

It's still a decent shonen manga and the author is currently bringing the games back a little. It just isn't as good as it started out.

Personally, I think the manga could be amazing if it eliminated power levels, although it's probably too late now. It reminds me a lot of the early episodes of Sword Art Online. The concept is great: everyone is stuck in a tower and has to climb up. The higher you go the tougher it gets. It's incredibly dangerous and there's a ton of politics scheming and betrayal ...but then comes all the DBZ nonsense and ruins it.

I liked this manga more when it was a team effort. Now it's just Baam fighting the big bad boss at the end of an arc.

I didn't have a problem with the Princesses being op early on or with Rankers being badasses. I didn't even mind early Viole phase when they still hinted at him being vulnerable to certain attacks or possibly running out of steam. The main problem was imo that they eliminated the games which used to have rules that limited the op characters and that the gap in power became too big compared to the middle of the pack characters like Rak. The webtoon mostly discarded it's survival game parts and went full shonen.

I was fine with things like the hell train that skips through multiple floors until the floors powerlevel caught up to the party's. Baam's original party was mentioned to be exceptionally strong, it wouldn't be unbelievable for them to skip a few here and there. And we had floors that were only 1 or 2 chapters long before. The problem is that powerlevels at the top are so different that Baam needs to be extremely exceptional to possibly fight Jahad. So Baam essentially just went from being probably a ~floor 50 character to being as strong as people who cleared all 147 within 3 arcs so Siu can get his FUG vs Jahad story started and have Baam play an active role in it.
