I joined team Liquid recently. This is my first step in this forum before I write tread about developing crossover project.
I want to make a story that about both MLP : FIM and Starcraft 2; after, I know starcraft universe; after, I know My Little Pony : Friendship is Magic.
I start MLP : FIM and Starcraft 2 Crossover Project. Its name is Ponycraft 2 Hoofs of Liberty. Short summary of story is this : Survivor of previous Colony ship ponies managed their life in Centaurs Sector in distance future. They flourished in Sector through centuries but recent conflict and alien invasion turned their life. A unicorn Pony Twilight Sparkle starts to adventure throughout sector to find true harmony and friendship.
It is half animated 20minutes 20 more episode project. Project will follow basic line of Starcraft 2 story but it is story of ponies who are searching harmony and friendship in universe. Project will its own part of story; part of meaning. I want to make a CrossOver story because I love both pony and Starcraft.
I want to make project that can impress many people who love pony and starcraft; like Jim Raynor’s word in Cinematic 17 “Because somethings, just worth fighting for.” Link : .

Description : I start to Starcraft 2 and MLP : Friendship is magic CrossOver Project. Project will be developed as 15-20 second per one picture and additional narrative and lots of voice acting like Half Animated asks Discord .
My Aim is make 20 minutes story for each episode; 25 more episodes to make complete story. I'm writer and director but not drawer. The Project needs 60-80 line arts for one episode-Project need 4-6 or more line art artists; and need basic line coloring-but not full coloring- 2 or more of line or basic coloring artists; and a lot of very confidence voice actors; 1 or 2 video editor for sound mixing and subtitles; and one concept director and assistant director to keep My Little Pony : Friendship Is Magic's direction and feeling and mash up with space adventure.
My plan start with Ponycraft 2 trailer mash up Link : . It is well done Pony trailer mash up; called One of Brony's best Conversion Tool. RTS Game Starcraft 2's is basically adventure in space; find what are humanity, freedom and things which wroth for fighting. Think about Ponies in space which called Centaur Sector; and struggling against Alien races-I decide to use Discord as Zerg, Griffon as Protoss; to keep their Equinity. In Project Story, Twilight Sparkle; she lost almost things after betrayal of her teacher Princess Celestia and brutal Brood War. Even, herself doesn't sure she will friend real friendship and love in wartorn space; but, when time has comes which Discord and Disharmony invade into Centaurs sector; she start adventure to find her old friend and save all Ponies from threat of Discord and Disharmony.
I want to make well done and Full Length finished Story that can outstanding in our Brony Community. Project Plan is possible; I aim enough good quality which can make Project sellable. It is dream get support from both Hasbro and Blizzard Company; but, I want to make impressive Story which can inspire actual show.
Things I need as Project Director is your Passion of My Little Pony. Brony Community already made many real meetings, products and albums. They already proved we can make some good stuff within our community and culture. If you have strong love and Passion about pony, that's enough. That is kind of disturbing On the main reason i came in here, do i just start with episode one, or is there a really good episode to get me hooked? (assuming any episode can ofc)
Just start with episode one. I don't see why you shouldn't watch the episodes in order. If the impression of the first few eps deters you from watching the rest thats fine. If it leaves you with enough curiosity to watch another ep then you'll probably like this series.
What he said. The 2-part premiere is really good, and introduces the characters pretty well. Anyone telling you to watch a specific episode just wants you to watch one featuring their favorite character. So watch episode 1-2. There is no meta in this post. At all.
Episode 2 is super cliche, almost to the point of cringeworthyness.
Or he can watch the Season 2 finale. Cuz that one was just fantastic.
Although I suggest something from the middle of the seasons to get a feel for what the show is usually like and really about.
Watch them in order though if you are open minded enough to try. I did. And here I am now.
I'm really against watching the first two episodes to start off the show, unless you are really willing to give it a try, meaning you will keep watching despite whether or not you liked the opening. My problem with the first two episodes, apart from being horribly cliché, is that is doesn't capture the essence of the show. It's 6 ponies fighting against a bad guy without any character true character development. But hey, if you really want to see what this show is about, start with the first two and go from there! But if you only want a peak, I'd suggest other episodes. For me, the best starter is number 13, Fallweather Friends, since it introduces most characters while giving some good development, while giving a certain nostalgia factor with new characters with an interesting theme.
Anyhow, hope you like the series!
Honestly when I read these suggestions to not start at episode 1 I feel like we're trying to compensate for the show's inability to introduce itself and that we need to set up the best impression possible.
I do not believe this show needs a wingman to pick up viewers. Episode 1 and 2 are not the best episodes in the series but they are the introductory episodes.

This project seems extremely ambitious without a portfolio. If this is your first project maybe consider doing a 5 minute short first.
I watched the first two episodes to see what the fuss was all about, decided the show was "meh" and added it to my queue of "things to listen to while playing World of Tanks/Starcraft 2," alongside other things like When Cheese Fails and random music videos on Youtube.
I remember catching myself humming along with the BGM from Dragonshy (from when they are climbing the mountain), grinning extremely widely the first time I heard Flutterguy speak, and finally admitting to myself that I was hooked as soon as I heard "Winter Wrap-up" for the first time.
So it took me watching two and listening to an additional nine episodes, but I'll be damned if it hasn't been totally worth it so far.
I nearly didn't continue on watching after the first ep.
It is a bad introductory ep, honestly. I do love it and ep 2 a lot now, but one's initial reaction while still being skeptical towards the show will generally be bad towards those two. I guess honestly curious newcomers are less skeptical these days though after seeing just how big this community already is and therefore there must be more to the show even if the first ep happens not to live up to the hype they see.
So after reading this whole discussion my advice would be the following:
If you are open-minded and genuinely curious and kinda wanted to get into the show anyway: Start with the first episodes. They are meant to introduce you to all the characters, and they do so in a fashion that is not at all confusing and really easy to get into. They also introduce a key point of the show many people seem to miss, which is that this is a show about Friendship and the virtues thereof. You kinda get beat over the head with that point, but seeing how many people out there still don't get it, I don't really mind that.
If you are kinda on the fence on the whole pony thing, and don't really know if it is for you, watch one of #7, #13 or #16 (Dragonshy, Fall Weather Friends or Sonic Rainboom). Those are the episodes I found the most awesome to watch and they are generally regarded to be very good introductory episodes [by whom?][citation needed].
I got into the show myself by watching all the episodes in order, and needless to say I didn't stop at the first two. I watched something like eight episodes in one sitting, and I never regretted it. Everyone I introduced into MLP in real life I started off with the first episodes and we never ran into any problems because I like to surround myself with open-minded people

Especially if they like Dr Who. I loved that episode, it was definitely one of my season 2 favourites.

I actually didn't even think about the possibility of using Season 2 episodes as introduction, but there's definitely a point to it as some of them are really awesome. There is however the problem that episodes including all of the Mane Six are actually pretty rare in Season 2, and in my opinion full coverage of the main cast is somewhat of a requirement for an introduction to any show. I wouldn't recommend It's About Time for that reason, and I can't give a really suited Season 2 episode off the top of my head. I'll look through the S2 episode list and give it some thought though.

I then asked him if he had yet to watch the show and he said that he hadn't, but that, with his extended vacation coming up (for those who don't know, Day[9] has pulled 80+ hour weeks nonstop since he started this gig full-time and is taking a few weeks off starting on Monday), he was looking forward to getting started on it. http://trotcon.com/ So apparently this is a convention in like a week and a half I've never heard about and is pretty much nextdoor (2-3 miles from my house.) I've walked that before seeing as it's at Ohio State University where I've attended and I've walked home before. Anyways if my schedule is open which I think it will be I'll be going, was anyone else even aware of this? I literally never heard of this until today because of Canterlot Gardens (a seemingly bigger one in the same state in September.)
Dont suppose any tlponies are close enough they're considering going? Let me know.
