Is this weird that I found myself identifying with.....dare I say....ponies? O_O To be fair, they're totally magical ponies that are people-like. ![]() It really is quite happy-fying. :D

I swear, anytime my mouse hovers over the play button of any MLP video, a little voice in my head starts screaming "WTF ARE U DOING, DONT U FUCKIN DARE GO THAT FAR". I feel like id compromise my manhood or something. That just means you're afraid of discovering who you are ![]() Watch it from a kids perspective, not from a man's perspective, and you'll get it. Don't be afraid, fuel your inner child and you'll realize you will be in peace more often than not. True story.

@SarR: being a man has nothing to do with what cartoons you watch, what books you read, how you like your stake done, or how many women a week you fuck, if you think watching a show about ponies is going to make you less of a man then you should reconsider how you are defining manhood

Manhood here is heavily defined by the framework you just suggested(how many women a week you fuck etc). I grew up with this, its in my very soul. I literally cannot watch this lol. It might be hard for people to understand. Im more afraid that by some fluke of nature, I might actually find some kind of joy in it. I shudder to think what my people would think. Scary thought.

I come from a country where stereotypes are rampant, people who are deemed homosexuals can be mobbed extra-judicially (has not happened in a long while), people take all insults personally, and men are "macho" and defend their pride viciously. Not saying that I myself took up this attitude, but I can see where's you're coming from. Still, it's not going to emasculate you if you watch a show about ponies. If this show was with animated people, I don't think anyone would give a damn either which way people watch it or hate it, it's the fact that it's about PONIES that people dislike. I can tell you that I had the same imbroglio when I first decided to watch MLP. Additionally, a lot of my friends think I'm weird for liking a show "for little girls", but they got over it and don't think negatively of me for that. The show isn't detracting from your masculinity, it's the fallacious perception that it does which is turning people off. Saying you won't watch a show about a wide variety of things that sometimes partially has to do with the fact that the protagonists are ponies is tantamount to saying that you won't buy a house because it was built only by white/mexican/black/chinese people (take your pick, no racism).

More power to people who are secure in themselves to not care about liking "unmanly" things like this. Maybe one day ill reach that level ![]() On August 13 2011 12:18 viralintruder wrote: I come from a country where stereotypes are rampant, people who are deemed homosexuals can be mobbed extra-judicially (has not happened in a long while), people take all insults personally, and men are "macho" and defend their pride viciously. I really admire your bravery. If I were into this, Id probably cut off my hand before I let any of my friends get a clue that I watch it. The thought of that is soo unbearable. I see your point though. I just have such thick pride its almost crippling.

If you absolutely cannot watch MLP, it's all cool, Love + Tolerance. Nice to see that at least you take the time to expound on your reasons for not watching MLP, thanks!
