No, this is not a joke/trolling thread. We don't need more filler posts asking if it is. Remember to spoiler season 6 content, and clearly label your spoilers.

So far, i've seen: Applejack = Goody Rarity = Idra Pinkie Pie = CatZ I'm not sure about the others though Plus: Celestia = Dustin Browder Rainbow Dash would be Actionjesuz. Somehow I also make the connection between Twilight and Artosis but I'm not entirely sure why. As far as Fluttershy goes I have no clue...Sheth? I would like to speculate: Luna = Flash/Jaedong/Bisu? I mean, the fandom is speculating that Luna has incredible magic powers, even more so than Celestia. And Luna is 1000 years behind on the times, the same way the above three are playing BW. (not to say playing BW makes you behind on the times.)

The only royalty i know of is female princesses. Also they seem to not have any religion in equestria at all. So, while they might have chess, they almost certainly don't have the same pieces as we do. It also probably is not war-themed, but since chess has a pretty high level of abstraction anyways, it could always be the boardgame form of some equestrian football-game, or something totally else.

Aye, the game would not be related to war, but rather a kind of fierce competition that involve participation and cooperation from ponies of all types, rather than just a "flying competition" for pegasi, or "magic competition" for unicorns, and the game would be special for this very reason. Likely, it would be rooted in Equestrian history in some way. The pieces, instead of "knight", "bishop", "rook", would probably be something akin to "pegasus", "unicorn", "earth pony", and each would have abilities representing this aspect. Just as a quick example, a unicorn might be equivalent to a knight, and its L shaped movement explained as being able to "teleport" to another nearby square (and through other pieces, I might add). In regards to the objective of the game, I'd have to give it some more thought, but I'm sure others in this crazy fandom have done it before now. Still, the best starting point would be the ancient conflict between Celestia and Luna, making it - as I've said - rooted in history and legend. In other news, I can't believe I'm seriously thinking about this. Confound these ponies.

In other news, I can't believe I'm seriously thinking about this. Confound these ponies. That would make sense. Assuming that the Elements of Harmony worked similar a thousand years ago as they do now, that also means that there were other ponies involved besides Nightmare Moon and Celestia. This would probably make Celestia the white king, and Nightmare Moon the Black one, and also ties in pretty well with the white vs black thing that is going on in chess. Or not, it does not fit. So i cut Celestia an Luna, and just have 6 Elements of Harmony, for 6 different types of chess pieces. So we probably have Magic as a Queen, Generosity as a King(he gives his movement to others^^), Honesty as a rook, Laughter as knights, loyalty as pawns, and kindness as a bishop. Hm, this could make sense, but it feels a bit to abstract and geeky for an actually popular game. But then, we have not seen anyone play chess in MLP up to this point, too. Still, i am not entirely happy with it. It should really be something every pony could understand and relate with, not something obscure from a singular event in the far past.

In the first episode's intro it is made clear that it was Celestia herself who used all of the Elements of Harmony to defeat Luna.

Rarity = Idra Pinkie Pie = WhiteRa Fluttershy = Sheth Rainbowdash = Huk Twilight Sparkle = Nestea Spike = Losira Celestia = Dustin Browder/David Kim Discord = Deezer Luna = ForGG aka "Fin" Applebloom = Incontrol Scootaloo = Destiny That is all I could think of (spelling errors are possible), anyone disagree? EDIT: Please add more niche ponies and players so we can get a really long list! If there are debates then we can flesh outwhy we think who is who, because I disagree with a few of the choices in that blog.
