This episode was 10/10 all the way

I mean the only thing that anyone can really complain about for this season was maybe Skylar being Skylar and the "whiney" Hank for the first few episodes. Edit: Also, it feels so long since we last saw the true "Chemist Walt" in so long (the poison cig wasn't as cool as the panning over the bomb making)

Seems about right to me, but in the video it seemed as if Gus didn't actually know about Brock getting poisoned, but in the actual episode it seemed pretty clear to me that Gus did it.

Yeah, that was kind of weird. It could just be the kid ate it accidentally. Little kids love to explore and they love to put things in their mouth. Or perhaps it was Walter after all? That would be so messed up. Maybe Tyrus is making a power play to take over Gus's spot, but he also would have been killed in the car bomb. Maybe Mike for whatever reason, but that seems unlikely. Then there is the final possibility I can think of and that's that the kid wasn't poisoned and just has the flu and Jesse just lost the cigarette.

Jesse did say that he had the cigarette with him that morning so I don't think it was that. Gus realizes something is up when Jesse says "he was poisoned" and thats why his attitude changes. He probably realizes that Jesse suspects him, and the actor says that he thinks something is off because his car is parked all alone on the top floor away from other people and would be easy to tamper with, and that Jesse's reluctance to come in to cook is a ploy to force Fring to come to him. He kind of suspects that its Walt's plan all along, and doesn't mention anything about seeing him from the garage.

I was doubtful at first because of Gus's line last season after Walt ran down the 2 drug dealers, "Are you asking me if I would harm a child?". But it looks like it has to be him.

Compared to other episodes in this season it is somewhat slow paced but I feel like the finale might give me a heart attack. Although to be honest, I have no idea what is coming but I do know whatever happens will be insane! This episode was all about anticipation. Walt is anticipating Gus, the DEA is anticipating the cartel, Hank is anticipating more evidence, Walt is anticipating Jesse to shoot him, and then Walt is anticipating Gus again. All the while we're anticipating shit to go down and the finale. The writing on this show is absolutely phenomenal. EDIT: I remember someone earlier in this thread mentioning how so far Walt has just done a string of rash and short-sighted actions to save his ass so far; but in the past it was the sane and chemistry-driven ideas that have really come through. I was really excited to see Walt realize that as well and use chemistry to solve problems again. I guess not even chemistry can stop the genius mastermind that is Gustavo Fring ![]()

The line "He was poisoned" set off huge red flags. Two possible outcomes: 1) Gus poisoned the kid(or passed the order down the line) to get Jesse to turn on Walt and kill him. The problem with this scenario is that Jesse tells Gus he[Brock] was poisoned so Gus now knows that Jesse knows. The second outcome is perhaps more far-fetched than the first, but I think it would be completely ingenious if it actually was this way. My devil's advocate is screaming that it would be that Walt actually did poison Brock knowing full well that Jesse would first suspect him as he and Jesse were the only two that knew about the cigarette(at least in their minds). Then he knew Jesse would come after him at which time he would be able to convince him that Gus has used kids before and he had no beneficial motives for doing it(except for that after explaining it all, he forcibly brought Jesse on his side against Gus. Walt would also have extensive knowledge of ricin and how to administer it. Oral exposure to ricin is far less toxic and lethal dose can be up to 20–30 milligrams per kilogram. Allowing him to expose Brock just enough for Jesse to put it together, and in-time for the hospital to catch it. The reasoning for this is that Walt truly feels he's at the end, and not just him but his family if he doesn't do something to stop Gus, which he needs Jesse for.
