Aaron Paul, I believe it was, who plays the ex student of the duo (to Brian Cranston's character), was interviewed on NPR's "Fresh Air" today. They played an interesting clip when Aaron's character Jesse Pinkman is at a support group talking about the "dog" he killed. You might find it an insightful or fun interview, fans.

well i just watched episode 10. while it is a pretty good plan to place poison in a very expensive bottle, and to some what subdue the possibility of death with an antidote before hand, i still think my plan would have been better.

i mean at most how many did he kill off with poison? 10-15? imo you can easily pick off their guys 1 by 1 especially with professional assassins if the count only totaled to about 15. the one guy who was picking off most of gus's men to begin with happened to be his main body guard and he got taken out by getting choked from behind with a wire...it's not like they're fighting well trained and intelligent people, half these guys are fat obese thugs...

don eladio's men blind folding gus jesse and mike was retarded as well since gus has ALREADY been there. like lol?

don eladio was also afraid to get poisoned he suspected it, but right before he drank he had a chemist on his side which he insulted. if the chemist was informed well enough he would definitly have told the don there was a possibility there was poison in the bottle and have it tested, i mean if they can test the purity of coke, it should be easy. after that? game won. 3 v 15 men end of story.
but since the plot is highly revolved around those 3, it won't ever happen. plotline shield wins again.

and if jessie was as smart, he would have gotten out of there with them (gus and mike) the first chance he got is to blow off gus and mike's head since gus clearly can't fight and mike is already battle wounded.

Pretty sure Gus would have been blindfolded the first time he was there. Don Eladio also waited for Gus to drink first. Did you even watch the ep?

I'm sure 3 people stripped of weapons could have easily fought their way out of the leader of the mexican cartel's house ez pz.

more like did you even comprehend my post?
what i suggested was to NOT go there in the first place, and hired professional assassins and let them do the work. finding their guys individually 1 by 1 over a course of time picking them off would have been the same result as don eladio's main body guard doing to gus with the sniper situation. none the less what i'm saying is just pure speculation.

That would have absolutely nothing to do with Walt and Jesse, the people this entire series revolves around.

To be quite honest, you sound as if you never watched an episode of Breaking Bad besides the most recent one. If Gus picked off a single cartel, the cartel would of OBVIOUSLY known it was him and started an all out war, which is what Gus wanted to prevent. Gus killed them the easiest way because he was able to take out Don Eladio and the chemists of the cartel; preventing a war.

to be quite honest, i don't give a fuck what you think cause it's all pure speculation. if your so assumed military was so powerful how do you suppose gus is going to get away with taking out their leader? do you honestly think the rest of the cartel, the ones which he didn't kill is going to let him get away with this? by your logic their military might as well start a war now for what he has done. picking off the leader with a sniper is no different than killing him with poison, he's still dead and the rest of the cartel still know. you act as if a guy who has control of a huge force, who gets picked off isn't going to enrage his army start an all out war anyway. you're fucking moronic. it looks like YOU didn't watch damn fucking episode that's for sure.

Sigh.... the crux of this debate was that you were saying that your way of having hired guns attack Cartel leaders is better than having them all poisoned... The point is that Gus decided circumvent the Cartel's military force. He arrived as a friendly party and blindsided the shit out of them killing the Don and his capos whilst they didn't have their guards up. Everyone disagreeing with shares the notion that this was a good move on Gus' part as opposed to your contention that Gus should hire imaginary super assassins who would kill all of the top brass simultaneously.
Edit: ahh he already got temped =S

Gus took out the entire upper tier of the Cartel hierarchy in an instant. An UB3R 1337 H4X0RZ snipurz will take them out one by one. So say Eladio gets shot. One of his underbosses takes over and then tells the Mexican military that he owns to go kill Gus's "highly trained assassin" that exists only in action movies and your imagination. Then he'll go and shoot Gus himself. In fact, you could probably find a hit man that would kill the president of the United States before you could find one that would attempt to take out a major crime boss. Those guys don't fuck around.

And Gus has killed almost everyone that would know Gus did it. In that single instant, Gus took out the entire upper echelon of Eladio's Cartel. The only guys left are at the bottom of the food chain. They'll either go to another Cartel or duke it out between each other for territory. In the end, they won't even remember how the original boss died.

No one is going to start a war now because no one is calling the shots and nobody is on anybody's payroll anymore. Think of these Cartels as a governemnt -- because they basically are, except 1000x more violent and vengeful. Imagine what would happen to America if the president, vice president, the speaker of the House, the pro tempore of the Senate, the president's entire executive cabinet, and every four-star General in each branch of the military died in the same instant. You really think we'd be able to pull it together and fight back? Now imagine if Obama got shot. Biden takes over, gets locked in a secret underground bunker, and it becomes a witch hunt for the guy that did it. He's done.

The only thing Gus has to worry about now is the possibility of a "five families" type of thing. They might come after Gus, but on the other hand I'm sure they knew it was only a beef between Gus and Eladio and will let the matter go to rest.

And in regardless to whether this is actually the first episode you've ever seen. It really doesn't help your case that you kept referring to them making cocaine XD

Dunno why you guys bother feeding the troll. The podcast discusses each scene and what happened. Should go listen to it if you've seen the episode and have any further questions to why the writers/actors did this or that.

And if Isildur threw the ring into Mount Doom at the start of the first movie there would have been no trilogy.

there's no way he was the head of the cartel, the very top of huge drug organizations are only seen by a handful of people and most don't even know they exist or are running the organization.

There is at least 2 other people on top of don eladio

This show is so dark, I had to stop watching halfway through season 2 * just because Walter's psychotic personality turned me off so much. Does he actually become less overly hostile and mean?

Walter just gets worse and worse actually. Thats kind of the over-arching theme of show and how the changes Walter has made in his life, and who he is can never be reverted.

Basically hes an awesome badass.

I don't know if it's the acting, but before his overt descent into madness, Walter already seemed to be on the brink of it. The first few episodes he acts so awkwardly and timid around everyone and even some of his teaching scene display borderline lack of control over himself. I honestly do think that besides his newfound criminal skills he really hasn't changed all that much, despite the show's insistence on 'a good man breaking bad.' I think when we find out (don't know if it already happened, since I'm behind!) why he left Gray Matter it will turn out to be just another incident of his capacity of completely deluding himself he is the victim while being unfair to others.

Just a question about the purity of the meth. Jesse's was shown to be 96% pure, but I think during the flashbacks in one of the episodes, Gale said that Walter can make 98% pure meth? Is that correct?
