Hey now, if it weren't for his overly hormonal daughter and slut nieces, Cersei wouldn't be in the predicament that she's in. With that said, I really like the Martell family lol.

Also, that beta can't be taking up that much time. I was done in 3 hours and I was going really slow. GET BACK TO READING! =P didnt make the red wedding chapter any easier to read. robbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb nooooooooooooo What? You actually get to read that in the books? I was extremely disgruntled after reading about the Red Wedding in some other charater's chapter and thought it was a deliberate, yet idiotic decision of George R. R. Martin's excentric writing. Jesus, how did I skip an entire chapter without noticing? The fucking Freys bring tears of rage into my eyes. God, they're way worse than any Lannister.
This is hilarious. So, did you get one of those editions of aSoS where the book is split in two, but you only bought the second part (or whatever one the RW is not in)? Or did you actually manage to skip an entire chapter while reading?

now im hoping that the brutality described in the red wedding and duel of the mountain and the snake would be shown on tv, especially danys conquest freeing the slaves like 163 slaves tied to a post with guts entrails hanging out and etc. im really curious on how it would be depicted on tv

I knew about the red wedding in advance, and purposely skipped the chapter when I felt it coming.... yes I am a coward

It airs in about 30 minutes from now right? (9 PM Eastern, US) Can't wait to watch ^^

I cannot imagine how awkward that boat ride back must be for Davos.
On another note, Lord Tywins' cupbearer?!? Since when?
|
Wow Roose Bolton is badass!
I guess they wanted more of Charles Dance, having the arya+roose scenes become arya+tywin is OK in my book
I hated Joffrey's scene with the whores, but other then that, what they added was good.

Just another effort to condense the storyline/characters to reduce confusion for non-book readers. Necessary part of the process I guess.

Necessary, but depressing.
Although considering the fact that they can't interject the internal dialogue from the book it does kind of make sense.
Still, there are a lot of things that I hope they can manage not to mangle like this.

Finally convinced some of my friends to watch the show, but needless to say after the Joffrey+whores scene (wtf) and the last two minutes (-_____-) uh....

Honestly I did not think they would pull that scene off like in the books. I thought it was one of the more retarded scenes GRRM wrote. But I guess here noone can complain about changing things. I really wonder how people that have not read the books will take this.
Btw, as Tywin is in Harrenhall and takes Boltons place as the one having Arya as cup bearer, I guess Harrenhall will remain in possession of the Lannisters. Arya will probbaly just flee. Well does not change too much in the end. Two different occopying factions Arya has to deal with are unnecessary. The other cuts in the story they made are quite clever, too.

God damn I forgot how retarded the dany chapters in ACOK were loooool. The part in the show at the gates made me cringe.
This was nowhere near as good as last episode, though Tyrion blackmailing Lancel was totally awesome.

If you 'convinced some friends to watch the show" why would you start them out in the middle of the second season.....

mmm... I think it would've been more effective if they showed shadow killing Renly for the cliffhanger ending, then next week elaborate more on the shadows by showing Melisandre sending it to liberate Storm's End and assassinating Penrose. ehhhh. Just seems a bit random to show the shadows there without much context. If I didn't read the books I'd be confused as fuck.
doesn't Renly die before Penrose anyways?

Yes he does. Renly dies first and his bannermen turn to Stannis' side, then they siege Stom's End. But since they did it this way I don't think we'll get to see Storm's End T_T
EDIT: Other than that, I loved this episode. The scenes in Harrenhal were incredibly dark and awesome.
|
Wow Roose appears but also massive divergence in his plot line is made. It's not unexpected ASOIF is so rich in content i knew when he didn't appear in season 1 that things would have to be heavily condensed.
|
Goddamn rat torture had me reliving flash backs of the nightmares I had after reading 1984 as a child.
|
Harrenhal looked amazing in the opening movie, not what I pictured in my mind at all but way better. Love the actor playing Arya, she is portraying Arya (my favourite character by far) so well.
Is anyone else sad that they basically skipped the whole red desert journey Daenarys takes? I loved the part where they finally make it to the deserted city and end up finding fruit and water. It feels like the journey wasn't as hard in the TV series compared to the books. Same with Arya's journey as well. I guess they have to condense things like crazy if they want to fit a book per season.

Mixed feelings about the last episode. A few thoughts:
- The Jofferey scene where he is torturing the whores was way over the top and unnecessary. Everybody knows that Jofferey is a little shit and a psychopath, no need to over do it.
- Having Arya see Tywin's viewpoint I actually like, because the actor for Tywin is fantastic and needs more screen time.
- The last scene was done very well. They put in a lot of the good dialouge from the book. It made me cringe big time, but that's what it was supposed to do. I guess it just isn't as bad to read it as it is to see it.
