SPOILER WARNING If you only watch the show, this thread will spoil you of future events in HBO's Game of Thrones. Thread contains discussion of all books of the series A Song of Ice and Fire Click Here for the spoiler-free thread.
So I haven't read the books but I really don't mind being spoiled. Who's the prisoner in the cage that Anya gives the small axe to during the end of the last episode? The camera lingers on his face for a few seconds and I get the sense that he is a character that plays a notable role.
Jaqen H'Ghar, he figures kinda prominently in Arya's storyline for a while and even after he and Arya part ways a little later he doesn't just disappear, he definitely still has some role to play that hasn't been entirely revealed yet.
Jaqen H'ghar, a Faceless Man. The Faceless Men are basically super elite Assassins capable of killing literally anyone without fail for the right price.
Which begs the question why is he locked up etc, I think the general assumption is just that it was by choice.

Jaqen was already in the black cells when Syrio was teaching Arya. That doesn't work.
Do we know that for sure?
I do'nt subscribe to the Jaquen = Syrio theory, but I'm curious anyways. Also, I guess one could always argue that maybe Jaquen WAS in there... and then The Alchemist (The Faceless Man currently being 'Syrio') became Jaquen. Which opens up new holes but whatever.
Syrio forel has most likely died guys, I entertain the thought of his return as well, but knowing GRRM marting, I think it is highly unlikely unless he appears as himself.
He wont be someone else, specially someone like Jaqar

Or it could be that he made a mistake. Faceless men are the absolute best assasins, but they are not unstoppable

I'd love to see a Faceless Man vs. Sorrowful Man throwdown. We need to find out who really is the best assassin's guild in the world of ASOIF!

Sorrowful men have been kida fail so far...the only time they show up the guy tries to use a snake and gives himself away. Snake proceeds to be owned by Barristan. Dunno what kinda bum they hired but a snake in a crowded market isnt exactly the best assasination method -_-. When Jaqen wanted someone dead he was dead...and he made it look like an accident no problem.

Just look at that:
His immediate reaction was even better:
I don't think that guy will survive the series. :d

the only reason the manticore didn't turn dany into a pile of steaming goo was that Ser Barristan the Bold is the baddest bad ass in westeros or essos... no one else knew what was going on

so far all we've seen Faceless Men do is push someone (Balon Greyjoy) off a bridge and off a castle wall (Chyswick) and sic someone's dog on them (Weese), none of that is really super amazing ninja assassin stuff either.
lol and the next scene...is very straight. feels like the show is turning into a porno. but then again the books had a lot of fucking and other fucked up shit...so all is well.

Or making them bite poisoned coins.
But I think its safe to assume that Jaquen is also a badass motherfucking sword fighter. And Arya's been training to be a Jedi with her 'get beat up by an old man in the dark' shit. Hell, the only reason she finally 'passed' that test was because she cheated (accidentally warged into cat, used cats eyes to hit him back).
yeah forgot about that... pate was a bit of an idiot lol
