He was pretty important in the mereenese plot as far as I remember... the producers of the show cant be crueler than GRRM can they?? + Show Spoiler + GRRM has said that there are too many PoVs and he has to kill some off. Barristan is probably a prime candidate. I half expect he doesn't survive the battle of Meereen. If he dies here, that deprives the show of his little knights of the round table/queenmaker run, but ultimately might not be so big a departure.

Answer to the show discussion, also Twow spoiler: + Show Spoiler + Dont know what episode you all watched, but in the one that i've seen, Barristan was cut at his leg, and was stabbed in the abdomen with a small shiv. neither looked lethal at all, the son of the harpy moved in to slash his throat, since he obviously seen that he s not dead, then Grey Worm saved him, by taking out the SotH. As to GRRM saying someone important will die who lives in the book, that might be him, but i doubt it, certainly wont die off-scene bleeding to death from a shiv-wound. I'd say its 60% likely that it s Bronn, other candidates are Barristan, Jorah, Alistair Thorn, or who knows really... Plus i dont count Ser Meryn Trant who will obviously be killed towards the end of this season by Arya in Bravos, taking the place of Raff the Sweetling, but no way GRRM is referring to him. Also i strongly suggest to lift this spoiler policy, obviously everyone watched it, or is smart enough to stay away if he really cares not to be spoiled, and it is making the discussion here really awkward.

Nearly all of them have been for the better so far. + Show Spoiler + Brienne and Jaime's story looks far more interesting than in aFfC. No Bran in sight (YES!). Janos Slynt's death was delicious. Barristan is a god. Hopefully not a dead one. Tommen is baller of the universe. Didn't like Tywin's funeral. Not ignoble enough.

- season 5 seem to go beyond Dance of dragons and contain major WoW spoilers. - show makes Stannis very loveable, which unfortunately means one thing. He will die ![]() - hope Barristan will die, that fight was to hollywodish, thats fucking one old man with no armor. However, I want Snow to live after he is stabbed. - can't make sense about Sansa and Jaime storyline. Anyone can elobarate, whats changed, whats expected to happen in contrast to the books?

+ Show Spoiler + I have a feeling Cersei will die this season. I was surprised she survived aFfC and given the accelerated pacing and the opening to the season I think her clock has run out.

Besides, we already had glimpse on her savior - mountain clone, they wouldn't have bothered to show him for no reason.

And before all that she has to have her walk of shame, and the trial by combat, featuring the revived Mountain. If they wanna fit all that in the remaninig 6 episode, we re gonna have Cersei in focus for like half of them remaining airtime. And there 0% for taht to happen, imo. It's far more likely, if they re gonna spoil major death scene from the 6th book, it is gonna be Stannis's, or really numerous other candidates for the role.

Anyone can elobarate, whats changed, whats expected to happen in contrast to the books? answers below + Show Spoiler + - As i explained like a page before, Barristan isnt dead - Sansa's storyline is the watered down, nonsensical fusion between the fake-Arya story from the 5th, and Sansa's bethrotal to Harry the heir, from the 6th book. LF reveals he s betting on Stannis, which makes no sense considering his actions up to now (series or books), but whatever, but ultimately wants the same thing as in the books. Have a strong grasp over the Vale, and to get the North's backing through Sansa, while the south is in dissaray. Ultimately, the whole shenanigans with Sansa are the buildup for LF's endgame, which gonna be similar, regardless of the story leading up to it that is 100% new stuff compared to the books. - Jamie's storyline is less obvious, and way cooler, obviously he and Bronn are filling in for Ser Arys Oakheart. Im almost convinced he's gonna meet face to face with Doran and he'll let him go, but well, who knows. Also Bronn is gonna take one for the team, most likely ( But this one plotline is probably the most intriguing of the changes, I really dont know where Jamie will end up, and i think he somehow needs to start doubting/ hating Cersei, or maybe they will scrap that interaction in the show as well, i'm really curious about this one story.

In the books they are in the Riverlands, Jamie clearing up the remnants of the Stark rebellion, subduing Riverrun and the other castles that still stand, and he s told by Lancel (and by tyrion before his escape) that Cersei was cheating on him multiple times. Meanwhile Brienne fights against random riff-raff, who have like the Hound's helm, and are playing outlaw in the Riverlands. She teams up with Robert's bastar, Gendry. She kills the outlaws, but gets captured by the Brotherhood without Banners, whom lost their leader, and their new one is Un-Cat, Lady Stonehart (revived Catlyn Stark). They tell her she needs to lure Jamie to them or they kill her, and that's where the story was left off in the books.

Not sure what u re talking about, is it the Daario= Euron theory? I really dont think that this was confirmed by the show in any way, or that it's true to begin with. Im quite sure it s not. Or are you talking about someone else?

His character has been butchered for four seasons, with barely a few redeeming moments. I still don't want him to die though

And why else did they use a white actor when Daario should by rights be... Middle eastern? I think the theory is sound and the show confirms it.
