Well, let's lead by example. + Show Spoiler + The preview for the next episode shows the Hound and Brienne meeting, and Brienne's actress said she would be biting someone's ear off this season. So it's pretty much confirmed at this point.

It's a major plot point, and a deviation from the books, so it's new to everyone. Thus it is a spoiler for everyone. Thus it should be discussed in spoilers before the episode airs. We'll be getting more and more of this in the coming seasons, and the deviations from the book will grow larger, too, and I'd really not want to have the show spoiled for me, just like I'd really not want to have the books spoiled for me. I personally think preview chapters should be free to discuss without spoilers as well. As long as information is obtained from official sources and not from leaks or whatever spoilers should not be necessary.

Actually, there's been a new rule in the TV thread to discuss upcoming episodes and previews in spoilers.

and it is the same thing about the preview of the next episode, I always avoid them, but it is really pissing me off that it is being discussed without spoilers tag some people prefer waiting to see the full stuff instead of some things without any context so I guess I would have to avoid the 2 got threads now?

Only thing that goes in spoilers in this thread is content from the preview chapters for WoW. Albeit, that might just be a courtesy from the select few who have read them to people who haven't, rather than a strict rule (I very much appreciate the use of spoiler tags: I'm one of those faithful waiters for the book to be released, rather than going through the painful agony of reading 1 chapter and then wanting MOAR).

If previews truly start spoiling major plot reveals, I agree, but this is pretty minor: 1. Book readers know that something/one needs to fuck the Hound up something major to move Arya's story along. 2. Show watchers know that Brienne is heading towards the Vale, and that Arya and the Hound are leaving it. 3. Brienne needs a couple of fights, Shagwell never existed and Biter and Rorge are dead. 4. The hype videos for Season 4 showed Brienne bighting off someone's ear. Put it all together and it's rather obvious speculation. Confirming that is not a big deal (and I am quite opposed to being spoiled). If something like the scene with the others were spoiled, I'd be a lot more pissed off: that is actually likely to be a similar piece of lore in the books as well as the series.

I don't want to be spoiled of what will happen in the show before if actually airs on TV, the same way viewers don't want to be spoiled of what happen in the books. Why, even though I read the books? because they are 2 different things and it ruin the fun I have when I watch the series. I thought there was a rule on the tv thread to speak about the preview only in spoilers but somehow it is spoken openly here

(1 tv only, no spoilers, 1 book only, 1 tv & book spoilers, 1 tv & book no spoilers.)

It's entirely analogous to how the TV thread does it with TV spoilers/previews. Well until we see that rule up top it is not official ![]()

Thanks for this debate on principles, deviations between show and books are only getting more frequent and i dont want to know about them in advance.
