I'm 99.9% sure Tywin is a goner this season. There's no getting around him dying, his fall is a titanic blow to the politics of King's Landing and why not have such a great character/actor go out in a finale. The timing is perfect.
Another hint is that the next episode is called: "The Children"
Most likely this is in reference to Tywin's relationship to his 3 kids. Which, if done properly, could segway nicely into the next season where the future of the Lannisters is tarnished by each of them despite all of Tywin's ambitions for his dynasty.
Isn't it just for the children of the forest? Everyone's a child of someone if you want to go down that way of thinking.
Well obviously, but writers tend to be a bit more clever with their titles than that. There's usually a clear hint to the more prominent stories. I suppose you're right on the children of the forest and come to think of it the title could also simultaneously reference Dany's dragons (which she considers her children), Arya's tragic early transition away from childhood, Melisandre's desire to sacrifice Mance's child (might be reaching a bit too far on this one) or even Stoneheart's prime reason for revenge.
Still, I expect the story with the Lannisters to be the prime focus. If you look back they've been building on that one for awhile, especially this season.

In the end we know what the episode will be about, all just depends on how much they have space to put into it and what they will keep for next season. I would be surprised if they cut some major parts "just 'cause" they don't really impact on the overall story after all the craptastic filler-scenes they have done.
As far as title goes Tyrion is the one I am looking forward to the most, hope they make his escape pure awesome.
Yeah it would suck to have one of the major expected story lines cut or be rushed when they wasted so much time on filler material earlier in the season. Based on the material they have to work with, next episode should be the best episode ever, which of course puts the expectations really high for readers.
Does anyone have any idea why they've barely showed Mance Rayder in the show? Specially considering how great the actor is? (Would have preferred Dominic West, but still). I was thinking about this the other day and it feels so weird, they have a tremendous actor and they barely even used him, is he too expensive? too difficult to work with? maybe he has a busy schedule?
It was a good episode, no more than that. Needless to say, the battle is much more dramatic in Storm of Swords. And I'm worried that they left so much for season finale! Seriously, it's impossible that they'll fit Tywin/Shae's death, the voting for Lord Commander, Stanis arrival, Bran's plot, Arya taking the ship to Bravos and "Walking Dead" Cat in one hour!
And I can't like the tv show Jon Snow. Don't know if it's just the bad acting or the directors, but he's sooo much awesome on the books.
I actually already didn't like John Snows storyline in the books all that much, I just think he's a bit of a dull character and the plot doesn't really seem to go anywhere. I always thought King's landing with all the scheming was way more interesting. I also think Kit Haringtons "duh-like" voice makes the character sound somewhat stupid.

I doubt they are going to do the lord commander vote in the finale, hat will probably be first episode next season..
What I expect from the finale is, a very rushed Stannis arrival leading into Bran plot followed by Arya then maybe a quick look at the dragons maybe some nude Missandei into Tywin/Shae death and quick last minute Cat reveal to leave viewers stunned till next season.
My concern really is how much they are going to have to rush some of this stuff... If they didn't pace the earlier episodes slower and through in filler crap that didn't need to be there we might have gotten the proper amount of time for it all. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and wait to see as they have done a damn good job so far, but I am skeptical about this finale...
In memory of the giants who died in the production of last night's episode.
Aye. Mag the Mighty was a fucking hero, but none of the detail to establish that goes into the show. The giant who apparently was him just came across as the big monster Grenn and those other five guys died to stop.
It was quite a missed opportunity given one of the ideas they seemed to push earlier this season with "good and evil" on both sides of every conflict. Hardly anything in the books is more emblematic of that than Noye and Mag rather heroically killing one another below the wall; both fighting selflessly for what they surely perceived in good faith to be a worthy cause.

They have a lot of interesting stuff to work with before the vote. Stannis offers Jon winterfell, all of the politics of the vote and some stuff with the wildlings IIRC. It makes sense for them to spend some time on it next season considering how little material there is left to cover from AFFC+ADWD.
I am afraid we will not see Lady Stoneheart afterall. I was expecting whole bit with Stannis to be done in this episode but with it being left for the next, and with Tyrion, Dany, Bran and Hound vs Brienne bits, I don't see them putting in Lady Stoneheart into this season. Maybe it is for the best, Cat actress would only need to appear for a minute in last episode and they can leave that for like ep 2 in Season 5 to be a big thing like Purple Wedding was.

I am pretty sure we see her, just because the actress of cersei has kinda spoiled it

Really? Then I am afraid it will be done that we only see her for few seconds.

i think they are actually setting up Tormund to marry Alys Karstark (instead of the Magnar's son) because they made the Thenns too evil in the show to redeem them.
