One of the reasons why Stannis is so cool in the books is because he gets the best lines.

Somehow I managed to avoid every spoiler these past 2 years. I managed to avoid even knowing what the actors look like so as to not ruin the image in my mind... Up until earlier this year. Don't know how I had the patience. I always saw this thread getting bigger and bigger... Never clicked it. I've now spent hours pouring over fan theories and the like. Need to start watching the show though. Book 6 really won't be out until 2015+? After reading all the theories, I suggest re-reading the books, suddenly all the subtleties and mysteries will make so much more sense, it's like reading a completely different series ![]() And we need something to do before book 6 anyway.

Given how drawn-out the Battle of Castle Black has been all season and judging from the preview I'm expecting something of equal or greater quality than "Blackwater" (best ep so far in the series imo). Plus...it's episode 9 :o Small sheep boy kills Ygritte with a bow, and Jon will be forced to say good job in front of acting commander Allister Thorn. It will be a strange feeling I guess. Edit: My guess on the TV adaptation of the scene.

Stanis arriving will consume at least 10-15 minutes (considering that john still needs to meet with mance) Khaleesi will take 5 minutes because everyone loves her Bran will get screen time....TT and the final scene NEEDS to be lady stoneheart arrival I'm worried

I'm not really that shocked Stannis was skipped this episode. He only showed up after Jon went to treat with Mance anyway, and I didn't think that would make it in tonight's episode since it's episode 9 and was clearly going to be only the battle at the castle.

Bran and Dany only need a quick set-up for next season, and Arya doesn't need much more, only to split from the Hound and then 30 seconds later on to show her leaving for Braavos. Probably a similar set-up for Brienne. Show her and Pod getting captured quick, and then wrap up the episode with the LSH reveal (or better yet IMO, roll credits first and play that scene in place of the usual trailer for the next episode). Maybe another quick scene showing Asha, but I think that could work better as the opening scene of S5E1 (have her arrive back at Pyke to find out Balon is dead). I think you could accomplish all of that with as little as 15 minutes of screen time. If it's really 66 minutes, then that's 50 minutes for Stannis arrival and all of Tyrion's stuff. Short snippets of scenes are what I think have been plaguing this season (and the last). Important scenes barely feel like they develop, since there's so much pressure to show every character and thus we get tons of short, static scenes.
