I think it makes perfect sense to end the season on that reveal, but I'm not sure I agree with involving Brienne, that puts her at the end of her known story a little soon when compared to the rest of Westeros. Maybe Oberyn is not dead :D? (The ultimate I would not expect him to be back...) Seems likely.

- Attack on the wall and Ygritte's death (ep9), plus the rout caused by Stannis (ep10) - Tyrion's escape and death of Tywin - The Hound's "death" and Arya getting on a boat - Bran and co meet the children of the forest Heres what I hope we get but am not sure will happen - Shae's strangling - Coldhands and Bloodraven - Stoneheart reveal - Varys saying something awesome while helping Tyrion Are they definately doing both dance and feast next season? Lots to get through still.

Lots to get through still. Bloodraven has been cast, so he will appear. Coldhands, I doubt it. I really, really want him to show up, but I'm afraid they've cut him entirely. Shae will be strangled. There is a scene of her we have yet to see. It was in the preview: she was lying on a red fancy bed, and rose up suddenly as though someone just came in her room. Pretty sure that is Tywin's bed, with Tyrion coming in to kill her and Tywin. If I recall, she even had a pretty gold chain... Varys... Well, it's Varys. He'll say something amazing for sure. We may even get a reveal/hint at Aegon, given the prior scene between Oberyn and Varys this season. @HyDrA, I'd like that, but I feel like that can be cut entirely. If it is featured, it might tell us something about the relevance of Sandor's future.

On June 03 2014 23:57 Laurens wrote: Brienne's plot is done though. They don't have anything to show from her in season 5, other than the meeting with Cat. So we won't see much of her in season 5 either way, unless they keep making random stuff up. (which is a good possibility to be fair) Her Feast for Crows plot has barely even started, though it's already been changed so much that it's hard to say how "far" along she is as it will have to be significantly changed at this point. Here is the summary of Feast and Dance: Brienne begins her search at Duskendale, where she allows Podrick Payne, the squire of Lady Sansa's husband Tyrion Lannister, to join her quest. She also has her shield repainted to the arms of Ser Duncan the Tall. She thinks of Lady Catelyn and what she had told Brienne of her daughters. She swears to Catelyn’s restless shade that she will never stop looking for Sansa. That's about as far as what she has accomplished in the show Her next stop is at Maidenpool, which she only enters with the unwanted aid of Ser Hyle Hunt, one of the knights who had mockingly courted her in Renly's camp. There she finds Lord Randyll Tarly dispensing justice; he begrudgingly allows her to continue her search. At a tavern she meets Nimble Dick Crabb, who leads her after "a fool" (whom she believes is Dontos Hollard, who might have Sansa with him). Of course in the show they found the gem Littlefinger smashed that Sansa was wearing, that Littlefinger threw on the boat that had Dontas' body, so presumably they found Ser Dontas, and there is no Shagwell the Fool. Traveling through Crackclaw Point, the trio arrive at the Whispers, the ruined hall of Nimble Dick's ancestors, encountering a band of Brave Companions remnants led by the fool, who is actually Shagwell, the psychotic jester. Shagwell kills Nimble Dick. Using Oathkeeper, Brienne manages to kill Pyg and Timeon, and forces Shagwell to dig a grave for Dick; she kills him as well when he turns on her. After the fight Ser Hyle Hunt joins her party, having followed her from Maidenpool. Following the sellswords' information, Brienne heads back to the Riverlands to find Sandor Clegane, who was reported to be with a girl, unbeknownst to her to be the wrong daughter. At Maidenpool they join with Meribald, an itinerant septon, who accompanies them to Saltpans. From there she visits the nearby Quiet Isle, where the Elder Brother assures her that the Hound is dead. and we see the hooded man who many assume is the Hound, along with his horse. At a crossroads near the Trident, Brienne fights another group of Brave Companions led by Rorge, who has been masquerading as Sandor while raping and murdering in the Riverlands. Brienne kills Rorge, but is grievously wounded by Biter, who chews the flesh off her cheek. After Gendry rescues her from Biter, he and the remaining members of the Brotherhood Without Banners take her captive. Biter and Rorge are already dead in the show to Arya and the Hound. The undead Catelyn Stark, now leading the Brotherhood as "Lady Stoneheart", does not believe Brienne's tale of her search for Sansa and judges her to be a traitor who is serving the Lannisters. Brienne was given the choice of killing Jaime Lannister to prove her loyalty, or to hang. Brienne refuses to choose and is sentenced to hang. After seeing Podrick Payne hanging near her, she shouts a single unknown word as they are about to do the same to her. A Dance with Dragons Brienne appears briefly at Pennytree when Jaime camps there, whatever word she shouted apparently making the Brotherhood spare her. She asks Jaime to help her save Sansa Stark from the Hound, claiming they are a day's ride away. She tells Jaime, however, that he must go with her alone, or the Hound will kill Sansa. The scenario she describes, however, seems unlikely to be real, as Sansa was last seen by readers in the Vale and the Hound is apparently dead. Now they could just cut to her being hung by Lady Stoneheart, but it makes you wonder what they are going to do with her for the next 2 books worth of material? It appears they are on pace to make Dance and Feast smashed into one season, which will allow it to really focus on highlights, but certainly puts GRRM on an unrealistic schedule to finish. I mean it's fairly unrealistic to expect him to stay ahead of them if they spent 2 seasons on feast and dance, with one season, it's virtually impossible. I always expected Brienne's story to be greatly condensed, and it's one change that is for the better, but I also expected to leave the action highlights, which seems unlikely now. Perhaps she is cut for a season all together though, the actress was just signed to play a role in Star Wars.

They made a point of mentioning the flesh wound that the Hound has in the last episode (Arya: "You should have let me burn it."), so I think that will play in somewhere down the road.

One thing that really struck me from A Storm of Swords vs early Season 4 of the show is the fate of the Hound. In the book, he is left to die of his infected wounds after the fight at the inn, whereas in Season 4, he comes out perfectly fine. Quite a significant difference. In the show, Sandor does later on get bitten on the neck. We'll see if the show gets spun in a way where this gets infected and kills him.

Possibly the big fight in the north and Tyrion escaping Kings Landing. Not sure if they'll get to to the King's Moot, Blackfish, Arya to Braavos (they'll probably end it with her leaving westeros), Bran's happy tree friends, Lady Stoneheart... Many loose ends and by next season most of the show viewers wont be able to remember half the story lines.
