wouldn't be surprised if this actually and legitimately pissed off a lot of non book readers, its one thing to subvert tropes and do the unexpected, it's another thing to tease that a fan favorite will win and then snatch it away in the most last-second gruesome way possible, they probably think Tyrion is going to die too

Also what I really love about that fight is for 99% of the fight oberyn is dominating then he just throws away the victory, so sad but so good.

Sepsis infection. Not enough sepsis in these books.

I thought it was weird that they never mentioned oberyn poisoning the spear but maybe they changed something Also what I really love about that fight is for 99% of the fight oberyn is dominating then he just throws away the victory, so sad but so good. I'm fairly certain they mentioned Qyburn in the show, so either mountain succumbs to his wounds(slashed achilles, spear pushed in and out of the stomach area, etc, or he dies to poison. The squire dude was polishing the spear head with a glove+cloth so poison isn't out of the question. Either way he'll get revived as zombie mountain though. The brutality of oberyn's death really shocked me though, even though I expected it, it was much, much more brutal than I anticipated.

The Sansa reveal is different from the books ofc but he does plan to reveal she is Sansa, once she marries Robin's heir (at least, thats what i remember) so it might just be to speed up her plotline. From the intro i expected some Braavos scene but there was none, but i guess that might be where we open up next week for some nice Stannis action

![]() The fight was really well done. Couldn't watch the end though, damn gore. The screams where enough for me. But again, some scenes didn't make any sense. What's the deal with Missandei and Grey Worm? Are they going to introduce another pointless love story? And what relevance did the beetle scene have other than further displaying Dinklage's brilliance and Tyrions relationship with Jaime?

Oberyn's screams... Sheesh. It was brilliant, largely due to the scenario and Pedro's acting. The guy playing The Mountain is obviously pretty weak. But something bugged me: they didn't mention the poison on the spear, and they even replace the spear. Oberyn snaps his before he can break Gregor's skin, so that kind of does away with the poison. That's kind of a plothole, isn't it? If he doesn't die from poisoning, Qyburn doesn't get to experiment on him, and he doesn't (potentially) become Robert Strong. Well, I suppose it's minor. They can very well say he was poisoned afterwards. Pretty good episode overall though. edit: Special mention to Daenerys. What bad acting... Jorah's betrayal is supposed to terribly wound her, but all I saw was... stone-like anger. I just don't see much good in her acting. Which is odd, she was good in S1, playing the frail fragile little girl... Pretty sure it's possible to poison more than one spear, dude. And I agree, Jonahs dismissal was disappointing.

In season 1 Tyrion states "I have a soft spot for cripples, bastards and broken things ...". So I guess the beetle scene is supposed to reinforce that maybe? Also why even question the Missandei scene? Them titties man, them titties. (seriously I think it's just some minor artificial (as in, not in the books) love interest plus excuse for nudity) Very nice find with that LF quote. Sup Tywin xoxoxoxo

Don't they realize that the show took liberties with the books and that D&D are the ones to blame, if indeed anybody should be? It'll be interesting to see their reactions when Ygritte and Tywin die though ![]() I am dreading the Daenerys plotline though, it's gonna be a boring time for her...
