I can't exactly point out why, but that scene left me with the feeling he wont have much more than a cameo or two in the future. That depends on his roles in Books 6 and 7. Also viewers like Bron character and actor, I could see HBO giving him scenes for fun. In books his actions are described by other characters, but on the show they could show these things.

I'm just gonna pretend that you are absolutely right, because that scene was sooo stupid Come to think of it. They SHOULD have skipped this scene and just show him full armor with a helmet on ready to battle in the next epiode, but nvm.

I think it would have worked much better if we didn't see him until the trial by combat. 80% of additional scenes felt tacked on so far. Only Season 1 had OK additional scenes, after that.... really bad except for some of the Arya additions. I really hope in some future someone remakes this series and does it better.

I really hope in some future someone remakes this series and does it better. We've seen what, 2 truly atrocious changes this season? The mountain's reintroduction and Theon's rescue attempt? Say what you will about the Arya/Hound scenes, I think they serve to further develop her character and lend another perspective on the Mountain. The Dany scenes are not really worse than any of her chapters in the book. For the most part, I've enjoyed the changes introduced in the series. The Brienne changes make her arc much more tolerable same is true with Bran changes. Even the scene with the red woman this past episode drops some hint on the importance of Shireen for us book readers. Also, through Stannis' added scene we had a chance to look at CGI Braavos - which was nice. You're, of course, entitled to your own opinion. I'm of the camp that books 4 and 5 are poorly edited, that there are certain decisions GRRM made in the books (by his own admission) he would wanted to have redone and the TV show serves to correct these flaws. It does introduce new flaws, some the result of the direction and script, but largely it's the result of the limitations of the medium. Overall the show is better than the books and I don't see this trend reversing for future seasons.

Overall though, purely in terms of the strength of story telling, pacing, etc., the show benefits from the mistakes of the book and is able to improve upon them. Again, specific examples include Brienne's current arc, hinting at the nature of the Others, aging up all the Stark children and parts of Stannis' arc.

I just don't understand it tbh. The show loses so much detail and worldbuilding, a lot of stuff is "IN YOUR FACE" cause they seem to think that the show watchers aren't smart enough otherwise (for example renly and loras). They even change characters for the worse (for example stannis and tyrion [mr whitewashed]). The added filler was mostly awfull (Asha ["hey i will save my brother but only if he is totally fine and there are no dogs", Bran[Let's waste some time for a subplot which is gone in 2 episodes instead of using the bran time for worldbuilding and history]) I mean you talk about pacing, i can at least understand that you think the last two books have problems in that regard (even though i don't fully agree, i can understand it), but what about the first 3 books was wrong with the pacing?

In fact, I enjoy those parts since they add something to the story the books didn't (Stannis's frustration of a lack of son and Renly's motivation to suddenly claim himself king). I do agree some parts make me scratch my head however, specifically these so-called fillers.

http://www.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/253zbx/is_daario_reallyspoilers_adwd/ I think Daario = Euron is uncannily sensible, and I can't believe I've never heard it until now.
