I too believe she will become very powerful in the future, and will impose herself as a major player of the game. I genuinely disagree with this. I actually don't think she will, and I suspect that she's going to end up fading away into the background. I believe that she'll find a life of some happiness somewhere, but she will end up being anonymous or with someone you do not expect. GRRM is setting it up like she's going to learn from Littlefinger, but when has something he's implied like that (both Littlefinger and GRRM) ever turn out to be the case? I also strongly suspect that Sansa's storyline is going to be accurately described overall by the metaphorical story told in the Bear and the Maiden Fair. maybe i'm missing part of the metaphore but are you suggesting shes going to have stockholm syndrome with a rapist Absolutely not. Her whole character was wrapped up in unrealistic dreams about chivalry, nobility, etc. that are not reflected in reality. I suspect she's going to end up with someone who would not fulfil those unrealistic, early expectations (i.e. the bear), but who she will ultimately construct a life with where she is able to find some semblance of happiness. I believe that he time with Littlefinger is limited, and will come to an end at some point. She's a pawn in his schemes, an object. Trust me, he doesn't care about her anymore than anything else, and perhaps only as an object of lust. I don't know why people think he's going to "teach her how to become a great player in the game". Why the hell would he do that?

It's a possibility, I suppose..... Even still, the idea that Littlefinger has compassion or actually cares about someone enough to "do them a favour" (i.e. teach her how to become essentially dangerous to him as another potential competent schemer) is not one I think is likely. Plus, the bear and the maiden fair just fits well.

There is the chance the boy will die without LF ever having had to do a thing*. *Such a tragedy that there are all these politically delicate official engagements that require the boy to appear healthy, necessitating this treatment that makes him look better off for a while but at the cost of his long term prognosis...

The trial was expertly done though. The book Shae storyline had a lot more of an impact than jilted Shae but the rest of the trial was pretty great. Dinklage owns it.

Liked Tyrion's monologue at the end, but there's a hole concerning that Tyrion doesn't have a champion lined up before saying the words. TV Dany is an self-righteous douchebag even beyond Book Dany. Dislike this change, though not nearly as much as the Dreadfort and Shae stuff.

Jaime being played by Tywin was good. The Shae part was ruined, as we more or less knew it would be. Within the bounds that they had set for themselves it was ok I guess. That was more or less what had to be expected. Asha's little mission to save Theon goes down as more pointless filler. How are they finding time for pointless filler when they have so much other material that they are forced to condense? At least it was the latter part of this episode that came across as strong while the earlier parts were weak. The last two put weaker moments towards the end and that final impression is pretty important. One book moment they seemed to think that they preserved yet didn't quite was right at the end. They kept the Tyrion-Tywin stare down with the "I just ruined all your plans" glare from Tyrion, but in the show we don't know that so well yet. They haven't determined who the champions are. Sure, Tywin obviously had plans and a trial by combat ruins them, but it was the political nightmare that was Oberyn facing Gregor that really made things bad for Tywin and really put the emphasis on that particular "fuck you" from Tyrion to Tywin. Disappointed in the unsullied. They have been getting slow lately. Some seem to think that a trial saves Tyrion's life no matter the outcome because the death of his champion covers the guilt and that Jaime's deal with Tywin stands. Ok, so maybe it takes a bit for the latter to sink in. But the first? WTF are they thinking?

The whole relationship between Jaime and Tyrion is being played out VERY differently from the book. I wonder what this going to mean later when Jaime comes to regret setting him free.

Bringing Jamie back earlier was a better call overall. They've made his relationship with Tyrion more endearing, while likewise making his relationship with Tywin and Cersei more strained for what seems like the eventual collapse of the Lannisters. Next episode: Lysa flies ^o^

In AFFC, Jaime thinks several times about his own guilt regarding his father's death, as he was the one who set Tyrion free, and Tyrion was the one who killed Tywin. He does think something along the lines of "I shouldn't have set him free" a few times. Though they're just impulsive thoughts, and I think that if he had to do it again, he'd do the same thing.

But some how I don't think they will be making her character part of the story just for the shock of her dying. I was wondering if they might not have mance going to save "Sansa", and instead Asha can save her and Theon somehow. It's kinda far fetched I know, but I just want there to be some reason we have to keep Asha in mind. That or she has some other important actions in TWoW that we don't know of yet.
