Not in the books but to me it was kinda obvious I mean, what else are they gonna do with them ? Simply kill them would have been stupid so it's assumed that they were used for a power up of sorts no ?

That was intense. The book certainly never gives a whitewalker chapter for perspective, all we know is what characters say from rumors. So that was definitely something new.

I kind of thought they did kill the babies. Sacrifice to some evil god, and that the whitewalkers themselves came from somewhere else, mummified corpses from somewhere way north, maybe. I didn't think they made baby whitewalkers that grow up to be adult whitewalkers.

Yeah I didn't expect the turning either, I kinda thought they killed them and somehow it granted them more powers. But the fact that they are turned means that there is a link between the humans and the Whitewalker, and this is important. Sows they aren't completely alien, they probably originate from human descent or something like that. Now that I think about it, anyone knows if the number of whitewalker is mentionned somewhere in the books ? Like we know there is a fuck ton of wights but how many WhiteWalkers ? A dozen ? A hundred ? A thousand ? I can't recall.

What's in the show isn't necessarily what it will be in the books.

I'm not sure what they are intending to do with Bran right now. His story line is diverging from the books a lot (and is incredibly dull so far).

It was always one of the more likely possibilities given Craster's setup. They have to reproduce somehow, they are conspicuously humanoid, and Craster was useful to them somehow. It was probably even the most likely possibility as of when Gilly's older sister/aunt/mother said his brothers would be coming. Nobody thought the WW grew the babies into adulthood to then simply zombify them, right?

Sure not necessarily, but this is one of the first true "show only" things we've seen other than replaced/combined characters. I would not be surprised if this is one of those "things GRRM told D&D about the story" bits.

Craster girl says the Gilly's son's brothers are coming. Unless they are lieing/don't know what happens, the Others either turn the boys into Wights or new Others. They can raise Wights out of dead people, so it seems absurdly troublesome to raise a baby just for that.

If you think about it, raising Others is the only thing that makes sense, unless you don't believe them for some reason. The show is just proving a theory that was very likely to be true anyway. It's just something a lot of people missed/didn't bother to look up.

Would people flip out if the show confirms R+L=J before the books, even though it's something almost everyone accepts as extremelly likely?

I don't really doubt that the babies are being used by the Others to grow their ranks or make themselves more powerful. But what is shown in the show may not be exactly how it happens or what they do in the books.

We will probably never get a direct book confirmation so this is as much as we can go off of I guess.

I really disliked the changes. Bran was supposed to meet that dead rider guy, where is he? His only way to survive atm is to stay out of everyone's way, now Jon and Vargo know about him... Why would the mutineers keep Ghost alive?

It's just fail logic to condense the episode. At least the people who haven't read the books aren't aware how nonsensical this is.
