...and to top it off, (non-specific book 6 related mention in spoiler) + Show Spoiler + they fit in the Raff (Polliver in the show) bit from the upcoming winds of winter that I was concerned that they wouldn't be able to do with the role switching. The end seemed a bit over the top as a "welcome back to our horrible world", where a young girl graduating to greater levels of homicidal mania and roaming a war ravaged countryside alongside one of it's great monsters is a moment of triumph. Next thing you know, people will be cheering when a boy chokes to death at his own wedding.

I haven't read the books, so I wasn't sure if it was that fight or a later, similar fight. Yea I thought i was tripping on that, I thought for sure that scene was supposed to get him killed. But now that I think about it, they haven't done anything with Beric Dondarrion and his brotherhood without banners yet. So they have to leave him alive for at least that long.

Looks like we're getting our consolation to the Red Wedding early next week, muhahaha ![]() I'm still uneasy about the deviation Shae's taking though. It still looks like she's ultimately going to end up in the same spot come the end of the season, but as less of a totally manipulative bitch that she was in the book.

It still looks like she's ultimately going to end up in the same spot come the end of the season, but as less of a totally manipulative bitch that she was in the book. They're just trying to give her motivation in the show to make her fate seem more tragic. We don't ever get Shae's internal monologue in the book, so we don't actually know any of her motivations for betraying Tyrion. The show has plenty of creative freedom in this regard. What we do know is that she was stuck in a bad place between upsetting the queen and hand of the king by not testifying how she wanted or betraying Tyrion. She took what she thought was the safe bet not expecting in a million years she'd die for it.

The Thenns were portrayed a bit too brutal imo. They were supposed to be more organised than the average wildling. I loved the Cersei+Jaime scene. Arya + Sandor was great too, and the actor for Oberyn was good but needs more screentime before I fully endorse him.

The play is about Tyrion's life as "The Bloody Hand", at least as the public knows it, and Lady Stork is Sansa, as she is referenced as the queen. Does Arya look very different? It's been a while since I've read the last book, and I feel like I glossed over any physical transformation. + Show Spoiler + Well, I guess we already got this scene in the show last night. How unfortunate that we won't be getting the book version... much better setup IMO.
