The ending, the Craster scene, the Hound/Dondarrion confrontation, and just Tywin as a character were all immensely satisfying.

Tywin/Cersei was absolutely terrific. The mutiny at Craster's Keep was even better than I imagined in the books. Margery/Sansa scene had me genuinely happy and almost teary-eyed near the end of it. Beric/Hound/Ayra was beautifully done. And holy shit I got goosebumps when Dany revealed she knew Valyrian. So epic. Only think I didn't enjoy was how indiscreet Varys/Queen of Thorns was. But def. made up by everything else here. edit: rofl so much shit happened this episode I forgot about Jaime/Brienne in the beginning

speaking of the Tyrell's, what do people think is going to happen to them in the last couple books? It seems like they've reached their zenith, and after now, I can only imagine them being pushed aside in the up and coming battle.

When she talks with Margaery about traveling to high garden, it sounds so ideal and relaxed compared to the shit Sansa goes through in King's Landing. The poor girl needs a break haha. speaking of the Tyrell's, what do people think is going to happen to them in the last couple books? It doesn't seem like Mace is a prolific warrior by any means, we always hear of him just dining outside of Storm's End during the siege.

I hope Berric/Dondarrion is a good long fight. Haven't read ASoS in awhile... What else is soon to happen? Things I recall: - Jon is gonna hang in the cave with Ygritte soon and will be climbing the wall, - things in Kings Landing should be a bit slow until the wedding, - Coldhands will make an appearance in a couple of episodes for Sam's arc, - Bran still needs to split up with his brother, and eventually reach the wall, - Robb should be setting up his uncle's wedding, - Arya/Hound should be interesting, - something with Davos, - Dany marches and hopefully somehow maintains her awesomeness in the show (and not the books), - Theon is about to get super fucked, - A BEAR. Not sure if that covers everything. Did I miss anything or get anything wrong? EDIT: Missed Sansa getting fucking crushed (especially after today's scene) and married to Tyrion. Sigh.

So I've just started watching the HBO series and am having a really hard time getting into it. I just can't take any of the show seriously because they leave out so many details and get so much wrong. The show isn't doing the books the justice that they deserve at all. I'll admit, there are a few epic scenes, but the majority of it all I can do is cringe because nothing is depicted the way I imagined it. I don't know, maybe I'm just a book person and not a TV person. Is there anyone else that has read the books before watching the show that is having the same problem? I've just finished the first season and think I'm going to leave it at that, which really sucks because I really wanted to like it. Tv series is amazing! You're missing out bro! One of the best book to tv adaptions ever!

Though it probably would have been pretty stupid of him to try and capture Storm's End. And the siege was doing its job. I think the Stannis/Mace rivalry is probably one of my favorite rivalries in the book. Especially considering the amount of shit Stannis has endured, compared to the relatively easy path Mace has chosen. Mace feasting outside Storm's End is actually a pretty symbolic comparison between the two. Stannis is constantly being battered and forced to take the hard way, but he still manages to fight through it. Mace relaxes and let's his position do the work, by being on the right side at the right time.

I feel like I remember another battle being mentioned as further proof of Mace Tyrell being a goof and Randall Tarly being the force behind his Liege Lord.

The red wedding is this season too. It is hard to say how 'far' Theon will get. How far towards what? They have to give him a season and a half of stuff to do before he shows up with content from the books again. The only thing they "need" to do in that time is break him to the point of becoming Reek. The preview a week or so ago showed a Thoros/Melisandre scene. That is big known change with who knows what implications for Arya/Gendry/BwoB/Stannis/Davos. Most likely Arya will not be impacted, but she might. Tywin informing his children of their marriage arrangements and possibly the presentation of the new Lannister valyrian swords promise to be great upcoming Tywin scenes. Also looking forward to him forcing Joff to do something. Unless giving away Sansa to Tyrion counts that will be something new. All he did along those lines was send Joff away from a small council meeting. I like Dany when she speaks valyrian. She is book 3 Dany right now. That is awesome. It seems the show is usually at its best when it is either paving entirely new ground (Theon) or sticking close to the books (a reasonably decent portion of the scenes in this episode, particularly the best ones towards the end and everything Jaime/Brienne). It is when they do something in between that it can be pretty weak (like all of Dany's s2 arc, or everything about Cat and Robb).

Books had these long ass tedious chapters (all bran basicly, some of daenerys, all these who the hell characters in Feast for Crows).

Since the wheels to marry Sansa to Loras are already in motion, they have to go through with the Tyrion - Sansa union in order to get her on the boat with LF. The question is who is gonna be the one who snitches to Tywin about the Tyrell plans?
