Then he provokes Tyrion the whole time after obviously having slept with Shae and proving what a hypocrit he was about whores. "What did you do with Tysha?" "Tysha?" He does not even remember her name. "The girl I married." "Oh yes. Your first whore." (Jaime had just told Tyrion she actually wasn't a whore and really did love him) Tyrion took aim at his father's chest. "The next time you say that word, I'll kill you." "You do not have the courage." "Shall we find out? It's a short word, and it seems to come so easily to your lips." Tyrion gestured impatiently with the bow. "Tysha. What did you do with her, after my little lesson?" "I don't recall." "Try harder. Did you have her killed?" His father pursed his lips. "There was no reason for that, she'd learned her place... and had been well paid for her day's work, I seem to recall. I suppose the steward sent her on her way. I never thought to inquire." "On her way where?" "Whereever whores go." Alright, the whole crossbow thing aside, I just don't understand Tyrion's fascination with this woman. He of all people should have the sensibility to know that even if things didn't end the way they did, there was not going to be a possibility of him staying happily married to her.

Love ain't logical. Tyrion was in love with this woman. You know what Tywin did to her. Tywin lied to Tyrion initially to make his actions more understandable ("She was just a whore and never loved you in the first place"). Once that lie became known, well.. Tyrion did what he had to do. I'm not sure what's not understandable about any of this. I'm getting more and more convinced that Shae is filling the role of Tysha in the show, by the way. In the show, Shae will be Tyrion's big love, and it will be Shae who will be taken away/murdered by Tywin (probably right after Tyrion will be arrested for Joffrey's death), which will result in Tyrion killing Tywin. It's an understandable change. You can't have Tyrion killing his father based on a story he told at one point in Season 1, as much as we'd like that.

I don't know about major changes, i don't think they are going to change any of the important events. Red Wedding/Tywin's death/Jaime's hand.... all of this stuff will happen and people will be really shocked because nothing interesting is going on during the first episodes lol One major change i'm hoping for is that Tyrion will find Ros and Littlefinger with Shae in Tywin's bed and he will kill all those terrible characters.

However, has the splitting ever been officially confirmed. I feel like they don't have the content at the pace they are at the moment. Shae being a true love for Tyrion would be really bad. But it would work out for those who did not read the books, i guess. I would still be sad.

If they split Book 3 into two, the red wedding will probably the last episode of the 4th series. What would you end this one with, then? Geoffreys death? Oh boy, i am getting excited just thinking of it. However, has the splitting ever been officially confirmed. I feel like they don't have the content at the pace they are at the moment. I'm pretty sure the RW is confirmed for the second-to-last episode of S3.

Now that they've met, somehow the Hound and Arya get separated, they travel together and find some Lannister men in the tavern (where Arya stabs the torturer to death) and that's where she reclaims Needle? Was that how it went?

Was that how it went? The Tickler is already dead in the show. She used one of her three assassinations on him. They will have to do something else if she is going to have her iconic scene where she murders one of the Mountain's men. I can't recall whether she reclaims Needle in the books or not, I thought she didn't ever get it back. In the book, they capture the Hound but have to release him after he wins a trial by combat with Beric Dondarrion. He follows them, and snatches Arya when she's not paying attention so that he can claim her ransom at the Twins by delivering her to Robb/Catelyn, but they get there on the night of the Red Wedding.

It's official. No Strong Belwas for us. A pity, but quite understandable.

I always liked Strong Belwas as a character, but it is true that he has very little impact on the story other than inadvertently saving Dany from the poisoned locusts, which can easily be exchanged for a different plot device when we get to that point, likely several seasons off. Although his fight outside of Mereen? was one of the funnier parts of the books IMO.
