Well of course, this is TV. I think they already made a huge concession with Theon's sister.

Gonna be so damn sad when she dies T.T But seriously, if they mess up the Jon/Mance/Ygritte story Im'a be so damn annoyed. It's by far one of my favorite pieces.
Also, reading that non-spoiler thread is just hysterical. People all being like "Oh man I can't wait till Robb takes off Theon's head!" And so sure that Robb is already a victor.
Ah the red wedding will be so much fun xD
I'm gonna love hearing the news when the red wedding hits in the show, gonna be sooo many people crying out about it.
I have a few friends who haven't read the books and are just watching the show, and hearing their speculations about what will happen is pure gold.
and yea, I was very happy to see Ygritte as hot as she's meant to be

The following rage will be just as golden. The last episode was already a good start.

I don't really go to the no spoilers thread to gloat or make fun of predictions, but I'll admit I raged pretty hard at Craster knocking out Jon Snow. Not really upset by dragon stealing though.

Condescending? not at all, I'm remembering my own excitment at how unpredicable the story was, and I remember what I thought was going to happen when i was reading the books, and am very amused to see other people with the same or differing views on what will happen. I think you're just seeing bad in people where there isn't any. I don't think there are many oldschool fans of the books that have a holier then thou condescending outlook towards the new fans, it's more of an excitement as more people are introduced to a series we've been really into for a long time.
edit: All of the changes in the show so far have been to make parts of the story more clear or smoothed over, because of the very differing mediums, the story would not be done justice if it WASN'T changed at all.
My prediction on the dragons being stolen is that it was done to give her a reason to go to the warlocks, because in the books she lost a LOT more of her army to the wastes and desertion, and there was a lot longer period where she was in the end convinced to go to the warlocks for help (and even then it was an iffy move for her character to make). The story requires the warlock scene, as it's a major turning point/point of discussion later on, and now we can have that, without going into the local stuff a lot more. Overall it gives her character more strength, while still revealing the flaws that she's still a young girl, still naive in some ways. The warlocks are already going to be entirely villainized by their attempt to kill her/suck her life out, so them stealing her dragons isn't a change to anything there, it's just an additional reason to dislike them.
Jon Snow being knocked out by craster is entirely a mood/theme choice, and I can see why they went with it. it's showing how much the watch lets go. It shows how they will not only tolerate, but work with wildlings with no questions asked when it suits their needs, and it establishes Mormont as the practical lord commander, as was re-iterated in the books, though in much duller ways.

I've just finished A Clash of Kings, partly by reading, partly by audio book, and I have one question. In fear of spoilers I will not look into this thread again, so it would be very kind if someone could answer via PM.
As far as I get it after the "battle" at Harrenhal this Bolton guy takes the castle for the Starks. Why does Arya not reveal herself at that point? Sure, the soldiers would not believe her at first probably, but proof should not be that hard to come by (showing she has the education of a noble, asking for someone who knows her etc.). Why did she choose not to and even kill a northener while escaping?
Thanks in advance. =)
edit: has been answered, thx!

i didnt read all the books yet (just the first two) but i feel like brandon will be the winner of this whole story.

Ok i am a bit fuzzy on my reading, did they skip the scene where Brann and Rickon are "Killed"? or does that come after their escape? I cant remember. It's a "OMFG NO FUCKING WAY" moment i've been looking forward all season as my girlfriend hasn't read the books and is being all smug about guessing wtf comes next.

That will probably come in the next episode.

Yeah, it happens after Theon chases them into the wild. After he realizes he cannot find them, the "Reek" character suggests that they use some of their clothings, to put into some random children (some millers family afaik) then desecrate them into being unrecognizable, so everyone will think that it's them!

After last episode I'm afraid we won't have Jojen and Meera Reed
They are really cool characters and also extremely important to the story...

I think you're right.. :/ Maybe Bran will figure everything out himself, or Osha will be the teacher? :D

Theres also a loose theory that the younger miller's son Theon killed was actually his, as he used to fuck the miller's wife years before and the timeline fits.
Theon is 19 in AGoT (10 years old when taken as a ward, Robert's rebellion was 9 years before AGoT). Rickon's age is 4-5. Assuming the Rickon stand-in was roughly the same age, its definitely within the realm of possibility.
Would be interesting if Theon is guilty of Kinslaying without his knowledge.

We should see the Reeds in season 3, towards the end of it, and have the group split in two for season 4.

^talk about unlucky if true.
Cursed for kinslaying, cursed for oathbreaking and being a turncloak, denied his birthright over the Iron Islands, endlessly tortured under Ramsey and may be burned alive in tWoW.

Given how GRRM cuts down everyone you love and then proceeds to raise up the seemingly worst humans in the story (Jaime for example), I could see some weird Reek/Theon resurgence later on in the series. If I learning anything after Cat Stark becoming a zombie: don't count 'em down and out until there is confirmation that the head is ENTIRELY detached from the corpse.... (ill see you later ser Gregor Clegane...)

(ill see you later ser Gregor Clegane...) Jaime is one of the worst humans in history? What? He's made Jaime seem like a cool gu after giving him a PoV. I wouldn't say he's that bad a person at all.
Not going to say he's a GOOD person, seeing as how he has no remorse for pushing bran out of the window (AFAIRemember).
