Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

Ortis was eaten alive. There's probably nothing left of him, or at least nothing that should incriminate shane.
It's not like he was bit and turned into a zombie like the blonde's sister. He was eaten

Best TV show ever
Would like a higher percentage of zombie "stuff" as opposed to all the talking/drama though

From what I remember Jenner only talked about how there was no cure, no hope for a cure, and showed how people are reanimated.
Comic/Book Reference (but not a spoiler persay) + Show Spoiler +In the comic & book, at least as far as I've read it hasn't come up anymore than a theory of future hope, and that's about ~2 years or so into it. There's still plenty of zombies to go around

For those who have doubts about the show but haven't seen it yet, DON'T start from season 2. Start from season 1 first episode. I've started re-watching the show from the beginning and now I remember why I enjoyed it so much. The suspense is really good and the drama is good to watch as well.
So yeah, start from episode 1.

You can't come into this show expecting zombie slaying for 90% of it. It's like BSG in that regard: Yeah, there's some crazy shit with robots and space going on, but it's mostly a human drama set in a fantasy/sci-fi setting. If you don't want a story about humanity and the repercussions of decisions in extreme circumstances, this isn't a show for you.
That said, next Sunday can not come fast enough.

Loved season 1. Season 2 is has a dull plot now because of trying to find+ Show Spoiler + and too much character drama. I loved the action in episode 3 and really nice twist that episode as well that adds to drama. But seriously find Sophia already, I don't want another episode in which nothing happens again.

But season 1 with only six episodes was so action packed So I think people were right in coming into season 2 expecting lots of zombies.

also what was the deal with dale at that one abandoned house? he basically finds where sophia was hiding (or at least someone), but then just leaves after a while without waiting for her?
|
I'm pretty sure Shane and Daryl are the only characters that matter to me. The others are all crying about everything and drama this and that. I kind of like the korean dude, he could survive, but the only ones that have the guts to do the right thing in the z- apocalypse are sure these 2, ah and prob Daryl's brother too.

Yeah I was wondering about this too.... I guess we'll find out in the next episode :S

SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!
I think the last episode was so unbelievable boring, also the fact that this woman got pregnant AGAIN in the most stupid time ( people who have watched Prison Break will know what i mean) is so obvious and bad(most annoying actress on the world btw). The 2nd season really started with a big boom ( 1st Episode so epic) but it got worse and worse. Well, we'll see.

I decided to re-watch the first episode of the series today and just up to the scene of Shane and Rick eating lunch in their patrol car I have already observed a substantial difference in tone and writing.
The opening scene throws you right into the mix of Rick inexplicably looking for gas and murdering a child zombie; you are given no clue as to what is going on. It's a great opening; very suspenseful and mysterious.
Then you get to the chat between Shane and Rick. Shane's story is comical, Rick's marriage troubles are apparent and in this one scene you get more character development than half of the entire second season. No doubt the hospital scene and the entrance to Atlanta will make me feel more of the same.
Not sure what I'm adding to this discussion but it started off so damn good!

I hope this little girl hunt ends soon, it is getting quite annoying. I understand she is young and all but she is so stupid. I have no idea why they added this hunt to the show, or if it was in the comics, but if they ever find her she better be a god damn zombie.

Since i haven't read the comics....
It just seems like a pointless season. Season 1? Get somewhere safe. Find the CDC, find a cure, at least an overarching goal that ties the episodes together.
Season 2?
...a girl missing? Rick's wife is preggers? If its the former, it's a character whose name I can't even remember let alone is significant at all, and if its the latter it was clear from the end of season 1 that the wife is preggos...and the ridiculously contrived nature of so many subplots. The well thing was a joke as they had already said there were several other wells to get water from, the scene involving Shane and Otis with their brilliant plan to infiltrate the horde of zombies to get the medical equipment, the reluctance of a family in a exposed farm to carry weapons in a freaking zombie apocalypse.
If the big thing in this season is Rick's wife's baby machine....ugh.
At least Daryl gives the show something to work with, and Shane's internal dilemma is good for development.
hopefully tonight's episode is better!

Oh my fucking god did that really just happen.
I seriously fucking hate Andrea if that just happened, holy fucking shit.
This episode was shaping up to be the best episode since the first couple episodes of S1 and then THAT shit happens... FUCK! So incompetent, sigh...
