For this genre the acting and story is amazing, and the ending of the first episode was great, so far I would recommend it to anyone! Also, if you cant find and torrents or similar you can PM me for stream links... btw, am I allowed to say that?

Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book.

Are you kidding me? Can they not do a scene without the characters having to ask these questions aloud? Ugh. Just when I think they might put together an exceptional scene Lori comes in and makes me want to throw my remote at the TV. Its like the writers are trying to fuck it up, or they think their audiences' average IQ is the nearing that of the zombies.

Sometimes in this show I just don't understand why the characters do the things they do. Meryl shooting zombies from the roof of the building is one thing. The scientist locking everyone in at the CDC another. Nobody caring about the black woman being left behind (lol) was yet another. Now we're just looking at a group of people pointlessly risking some guy's life for a resource that has never been all that hard to find in the past? You'd think the people who survived the zombie apocalypse would be a little bit smarter.

It's not out of bad taste, but it's so conveniently set up such as wearing Otis' clothes and giving a speech at his burial. Sucks to be Shane in this episode, lol. I am surprised that Glenn hooked up with Maggie so soon since I was thinking they would in the next episode or later this season. Turns out girls get horny too :D On November 07 2011 15:49 cca1ss1e wrote: who's child is she meant to be pregnant with? is it rick's? XD Obviously shane's.

Oh and talk about a modern stereotypical awkward Asian guy. That whole interaction between him and that girl really annoyed me.

The part with the well was pretty cool, but the rest seemed a little lackluster. I heard this series was good though, so Im guessing (hoping) that the rest of the series is really good? Oh and talk about a modern stereotypical awkward Asian guy. That whole interaction between him and that girl really annoyed me. Yeah its a shame how they went about that. The creator of the comic seemed to very deliberately avoid writing his character in that way, and here it is on TV going right down that road. Though he's pretty much been like that since a few episodes after he was introduced, it just sucks to see them pushing it so hard. Can't say I felt the same way about the well scene. I just found it incredibly contrived and predictable. Not exciting at all.

Scenes like that would be so much more powerful with less words spoken. The actors are good enough we can figure out what's going on without needing to be told.

The awkwardness he has just adds to his charm. Admittedly they are making him a little more comedic relief than I'm sure was in the comics, but I think that's acceptable in a TV show especially one that's otherwise so heavy on basic cable.

I don't recall the writing being this bad in season 1, maybe it still was, I don't know. It just aggravates me to no end because someone on that set had to have the same sentiment. If we can point this out, they had to know as well. Spoon-feeding the masses man. Its a shame.

But you're right, that completely ruined the scene. I also have to note how horrific the writing was for the pharmacy "love scene". She basically said "fuck me". In the end it was a filler episode in every way, shape, and form, with a VERYYYY predictable twist at the end. I mean seriously, did anyone not expect that? I thought they were going to bring it out earlier though to be honest. When they showed the first sex scene between them, it was pretty obvious it was going to have consequences.

Getting a little redundant and boring...

Man then I wish I really would have re-watched season 1 before I decided to come back for season 2. That is hilarious that you mention that about the sex scene because "fuck me" is pretty much exactly how Maggy approaches it in the comic, though in a completely different context so it works. edit: Also, since when does AMC go for side-boob? That was a bit surprising. Though I guess when you're showing so much gore it has to be difficult for execs to say no when you want to push the envelope in other areas as well. What is going on... Last scene. Rick is putting away his cop uniform very deliberately. Calmly getting ready to close the drawer after setting his badge on top. Then Lori creeps up on him and asks him quietly, "Are you putting them away?" Even though it doesn't really fit with the rest of the episode (there really isn't a theme of him letting go of the civilized world or anything) it still, by itself could have been executed so much better. It wouldn't have been the greatest scene in the world by any means but it still would have been pretty good.

I actually find myself not really caring at all about the characters in this show. I've always felt a show like this was more situation and plot driven than pure character driven. Of course that can change if the writing and acting are excellent, but it hasn't been. AMC really has to change some shit up. btw anybody know the ratings for the most recent episodes? nvm, found it on wiki.

Not at all. Why the well scene? 5 total wells, and they think they need this particular one? Why wouldn't a zombie soaking in the water for days/weeks contaminate the water? Would they seriously drink the water after a zombie had been bathing in it for weeks anyway, when there is plenty of other water? Why take the risk? The scene with lowering Glenn went exactly as expected, of course something would snap and he would come dangerously close to getting bitten, but of course gets saved. I can understand creating a tense scene, but something that obviously predictable is just too cliche to be scary at all I didn't mind the pharmacy scene too much, I could very well see two young stressed out people turning to sex when they get a minute alone in that sort of scenario. Maybe more sexual tension could have been built as it was a bit sudden. But the one thing I can't get.....is this stupid farmhouse. It's clearly pretty close to a zombie infested forest/land/town/area. They have a huge clearing around the whole damn place, blast lights at nighttime, chit-chat on the porch without sentries, and the patriarch of this sanctuary doesn't want guns on his property because...."he doesn't want to turn it into a armed camp". I keep hoping they will do a wide angle shot of the area and show a massive horde creeping up on the house.......
