That being said, the scenes with Glenn and Abraham were so lame. I haven't read the comics and those that have seem to be excited for Abraham at least, but my initial impression of them is quite negative. I mean, it seems like the total cliche' comic book group with little personality to compensate. You've got the lame, weak, antisocial scientist who's a genius in the lab but a total burden when it comes to survival (sick rifle usage, I'd wager Carl would fare better). There's the chick who's presence outside of being the eyecandy is barely felt. Then there's Abraham himself, the only one who can seemingly act, but is still just the typical badass brute of the group. The whole union of the two groups felt kind of rapid and not really organic at all. Just forced. Also, a fatigued Glenn knocking Abraham to the ground? Yeah, that's about as believable as Rick subduing Tyresse. | ||

Also I'm not sure why you guys keep thinking there's supposed to be some sort of purpose to the plot. Stuff happens, people react. The story is literally just survive. It's like playing a city builder and wanting drama to happen, or playing Sims like there's supposed to be a storyline. Sure, stuff happens and they react and that continues the story, but for the most part the zombie apocalypse is supposed to end up about just human interaction and shit happening, not to serve some greater purpose like finding a cure. Those are for movies. @FrostedMiniWheats, all of those things are believable... I don't know why you think that you can't knock down someone larger than you when you really actually want to. He's insulting his wife, he got mad, and he's Glenn. And what's wrong with the cliches? You guys complain about everyone being expert marksmen, and then when shitty shooters show up everyone complains that they can't shoot. He's a scientist and it's obvious he's using Abraham as a bodyguard so he doesn't have to actually deal with zombies, because as you can see, he sucks at it. I would love to see you when it's your first time holding a rifle and you're pressured to shoot zombies that are coming at you. | ||

That's a pretty dumb idea. 3-man group in a hostile world and you don't even learn how to use your firearms? It wouldn't be my first time holding a rifle because I'd realize I'd have to, uh idk, maybe contribute if the shit hits the fan? It's not just zombies, but also raiders they'll have to possibly worry about. Might want to familiarize yourself with your weapons to at least some degree. Especially when he's bragging about being so smart. Also I was a little skeptical of Glenn knocking down Abraham not just because he's bigger, but more because Glenn was also very fatigued. He's just recovering from a flu, had to fight his way out of a prison, collapsed, probably hasn't had a decent meal yet, and just woke up moments before the fist fight. Eh, idk... Finally, the reason I mention the cliche characters is because they are seemingly so out of place given what I've come to know from this series in characterization so far. It's like Glenn ran into Duke Nukem, Lara Croft, and random scientist stock character all of a sudden. Maybe they were actually on their way to a cosplay convention prior to the outbreak... Now as I said, this is all initial reaction, Michonne seemed like she walked right out of an anime initially but as time has gone on she's become something more interesting than a cold-blooded badass. She's more 3-dimensional. | ||

I liked the episode, but I really do hate Ford and the new group. I think they ripped them directly from the comics, which have more of a tongue-in-cheek gritty vibe, but they don't translate well to the TV show which is intended to be a little more realistic. | ||
