any GRIEF fans? although i don't think doom/sludge is my metal subgenre of choice, this band epitomizes metal for me. Dismal is absolutely one of my favorite recordings ever. i feel like it's the audio equivalent of someone being beaten to death with a brick in slow motion. fvkking metal | ||

It's technical sure, but also crammed with incredible melodies. Not to mention awesome, groovy, and crushing riffs with death metal vocals that rival some of the greats in the genre (like Amon Amarth). I'd classify it as progressive technical melodic death metal. There is no melodeath I've heard with as much depth as Anata. | ||
