Use to be a big metal head elitist etc etc. But then I drifted away to top 100 and clubbing music. Just recently I came back and need to throw some bands outs and see what I missed in the past few years.
One of my top favorites: Mounrful Congregation (Funeral Doom)
Recently discovered these guys, wish I knew about them earlier. Kampfar (Black)
Being a big fan of Agalloch and Empyrium I found a pretty good band along those lines. The Morningside (I'm not great with genres anymore I'm guessing Death/Doom)

I don't wanna single you out or anything, as long as you like listening to it genre shouldn't matter, im just ranting a bit about the state of things so dont mind me.
[Edit: Haha, I just realized what that Powerglove was about, awesome.]
I listen to a quite wide variety of music, though mostly somewhat older bands. Anyway, let me throw down a couple of links to songs that maybe not everyone has heard:
Early Scorpions from 1976:
Japanese band, a song from 1989 I think (slow beginning, give it a moment)
I went on another prog rock/metal artist hunt today, after finally getting through my backlog of unlistened albums, I gotta leave some of my fresh discoveries here :D
Its called Judas Priest, search them if you never heard of the metal gods ( lolololol ), listen to them, then Add me as a friend in Starcraft to play me for a practice game ( name Schtrudel code 678 )
Oh yes, Trivium. This band, along with a few more well-known metal bands (Disturbed, A7X, Metallica) creates a perfect melody of head thrashing mixed in with meaningful (somewhat) lyrics A few of my current fav metal songs:

Would be great if it had a little bit of a melodic sound to it as well. Can anyone oblige me?
I listen loads of melodic black metal, but there aren't really a lot that combine melodic with industrial though. Samael is probably only one that does that. Here some Melodic ones though.
Blood Stain Child is more melodic death metal but some of their songs have Industrial influences so I added that one because of that.
