Does anyone have some recommendations of newer thrash metal bands like flayed disciple for example? I'll also accept death/thrash hybrids. The reason I ask for newer ones is because I've already heard of most old bands like Slayer, Kreator, etc so I want new ones!
Lost Society have been getting a fair amount of hype. The only thing bad about the album is the lyrics, they're really lame. Example: PISS OUT MY ASS PISS OUT MY ASS PISS OUT MY ASS PISS OUT MY PISS OUT MY ASS FUCK MOTHERFUCKERS! PISS OUT MY PISS OUT MY ASS
Haha thanks! *adds hexen on huge backlog of bands yet to listen to*
I've been hacking away slowly on all the new band suggestions and I won't be done going through all of them for a while I think. As of now I've been really impressed with Evile, Atheist and Heathen! I also came across a technical death metal band called The Faceless and they're pretty solid, with more progressive elements in their last album or 2.
This new one is a huge letdown compared to their previous albums, I'd definitely recommend those two over this one. Planetary Duality I personally found to be a bit more, well, unique and interesting compared to Akeldama (which was solid, with a little too much -core influence, but otherwise still great). This new one however is very much a step down in terms of quality.
Now if we're talking tech death, I'm just gonna list a few big names off the top of my head that you should definitely check out:
For a more rhythm oriented style of tech-death (i.e. riffs and drums over flashy solos all over the place) definitely go for Gorguts, Cryptopsy, Decapitated, Suffocation, Demilich, Immolation, Nile, Adramelech. However if you're more into the modern, melodic and often solo-filled style, notable bands would include Necrophagist, Obscura, Gorod, Anata, First Fragment, Augury, Psycroptic, Arsis, Quo Vadis, Beyond Creation.
No doubt I've missed some important bands but I feel like this is definitely a good starting point.
Yeah, I enjoyed Planetary Duality the most as well. To me Autotheism sounded like they wanted to get more mainstream and lost touch with what made them awesome in the first place, but I still thought it was a decent album in general.
Out of all the artists you listed there I've only listened to Nile lol. I like that band though and I do want to build my death collection so I'll add all those into my death list! I still have to go through my thrash list first haha. Thank you puppets! ^_^
Also if you want to check out some of the finest old school death metal ever made, feel free to check out my first list in this thread, which also includes a bunch of the bands mentioned above. ^^
Honestly there's way too much good music out there, and I definitely feel overwhelmed myself at times. Take it easy \m/ ^^

Maaaaan I know! I always have that feeling in me that there's this band out there that's going to blow my mind, and there is, if I have the time to sift through an seemingly endless amount of bands! Also listening to a few songs isn't good enough for me, so I have this OCD of having to listen to all the songs of all albums available to me of a given band before giving my verdict, which makes the process even longer.
I clicked your link and the first band that popped up was Death which tells me it's all legit! :p
Also, I'm definitely taking it easy, the only time I've went out of my way big time is in my one metal concert I got to go to; at home I just do light head-banging. \m/(>.<)\m/

I picked one up in Baltimore when I saw them at deathfest. They were great but I was so crushed being up front that I left mid set because I had already seen like 4 other bands and had been up front for 4 hrs.
I've been lacking in posting here. I've been finding a bunch of new stuff. Mostly doom and sludge. Havent kept up with death metal as much as I had the previous years. Heard Lantern's and Imprecations releases are killer.
I've been listening to a lot of Gaza. Such dissonant metalcore. Not the melodic gothenburg stuff either.

Saw them a couple of times already they allways have their completely own merch shop with them . Where they distribute their fanware themselves . Shirts are quite alot cheaper than those of other bands too . 10-15 € IRC
Also i'm actually wearing one of my Bolt Thrower shirts right now ^^
EDIT:
Anybody from Germany/Europe heard of the Party.San Festival and planning to go ? It's a pretty cool Extreme Metal Festival in Germany which incidentally is also held in my hometown since 2011 for those who never heard of the festival. Lineup is mainly Death and Black with some Trash and other stuff mixed in here and there .
Might as well add a Party.San Video. From 2010 where the whole festival was basically walking knee deep in mud which then led to the festival moving to my hometown ^^ Not a really big Watain fan but their performance 2010 was really cool .

ya that's why I was so excited about it. Got my shirt for $10, and the cheapest one on ebay was like $40... tour just ended 2 weeks ago lol...
they played with Benediction and Autopsy. Benediction was ok, Autopsy was much better than I expected, and Bolt Thrower killed it.
I definitely need to listen to more Bolt Thrower. The few albums I've listened to I liked quite a lot, not sure why I never dug deeper into their discography.

Maybe because Coroner always gets in the way? :p
lol how did you know
They're similar bands in that both of them have only released great albums. ^^

Because I'm listening to their albums for the first time today and I have deep shame for not knowing who they were earlier.
It's a badass song for sure, but for me I think my favourite Bolt Thrower track would have to be World Eater. That main riff is so simple, yet so ridiculously catchy and effective and it's made all the more awesome by that sick guitar tone.
