Yeah, that Sand King wasn't too useful as a #2. But they almost made it work.

it just means they are in as the 3rd seed so they play the #2 in group B which is most likely VP.

Alliance has still vs won two games vs opponents with weird drafts and might have been messing around to some extent.

EG was locked before that game, technically I think Alliance was too. It was just for 2nd 3rd seed. But this removes the controversy over tiebreakers.

good thing the tiebreakers is not in question now...nonetheless,still not liking this 6 teams gets eliminated thro bo1 format when EG and LGD had almost nothing to lose in their last games..hope LGD makes deeper run in this tourney.

I think if EG was at risk that game vs alliance would have been different

I wouldn't draw too many conclusions about EG. They still haven't had an event with this lineup where they are convincing all the time. Even in the Summit which they won in the end they dropped games in every series and some of the deciding games were very close. Also if you look at them at Frankfurt, MLG etc. they barely scraped by some of their series but still won and got deep into the events.

Honestly, no team has been hugely convincing since TI5. The last great team in Dota 2 was EG with Aui.

TI6 is going to be interesting for sure.

I wouldn't say they were messing around . Playing standard isn't the only way to playing seriously. They seriously believed in that strategy to work and they just lost, no need to overthink it.

Idk about that. EG wasn't that different even with that lineup. They "only" won TI and DAC as far as I recall in terms of LANs. At DAC they were dominant in the last few days but were not ahead of the pack before it. At TI also it was not like they dominated throughout the event. I suppose the one big difference to this lineup is that now they didn't win the major, but their performance in events overall was not that different.

It's easier to say after a few of these majors whether someone constantly shines in the biggest events. But outside of the majors noone has really had runs similar to what Secret did in May-June where they were really dominant. In terms of actual results Secret wasn't so far from that pre-Frankfurt but they were not just beating everyone from start to finish in the tournaments. In fact they somewhat struggled early on and then won the games that mattered.

He was also leaking scrim results. I see him having a very short stint in NaVi, he'll probably get discharged without honors very soon
