I'm grasping for straws here, they cant be playing this bad and trying to win at the same time. If they are, then they should probably start packing their bags and retire for good. I also don't think they are doing a protest; they just can't be bothered. That said, I fully expect them to participate seriously in the upcoming TI5, even if they have to go through qualifiers for it.

People were like "western team top 8. western bias m8" Currently, there's 5 non-China teams in top 8 and this is to an "Asian" tourney where all of China was invited to Actually, lets not exaggerate. The teams the west brought were top notch and they played a painful qualifier to get here. In all aspects, it can be fair to say that the West brought their best teams here (arguable, but fair to say so). Beyond the few Eastern teams who are top notch (which amounts to 4-5 teams), the rest are tier 2. Its like saying if VG went to a Western tournament and scores first place, the Western scene sucks. Its not a fair comparison because VG is clearly the best representative of the East at that point of time. Also, beyond Secret which looks like a wrecking ball in the group stages, it looks like the best of the East and the best of the West seem to be pretty even.

It's obviously not lifetime invites, just the current champion. Even Alliance and iG werent in that bad of a state after their wins. Not inviting any of these teams now also clearly makes sense, specially Alliance.

I agree If you discount Honeymoon Dream Team Secret (which they're if you think individually you cant get better probably), and compare to Eastern scene where: -Last TI champions dont practice -VG has communication and probably roster problems -IG had to bring back a player they kicked (WTF LOL) -BG is a "semipro friend stack" -LGD loses if Yao doesnt play ember you start to understand that this DAC is in a bad moment for Eastern scene and anything can happen.

MVP looks so outclassed this whole tournament. Interesting really because their arch rivals in the Korean scene seems to be doing fine.
