Narvi game plan was all about controlling the lanes. Ideally, od will dominate mid heavily, bb will get farm and be at least even at top, and Luna's farm will be suppressed. Bot's killing combo is strong, which means bane and ogre needs to be at bot 24/7. Bb fucked up, while od did not win his lane as hard as he should.

Past the laning stage, it was always going to be eg's game because narvi did not have a good farm advantage from their superior laning. Their only tempo controller is mirana, while the other 4 cannot contribute much because they are defensive by nature. OD needed to rice, BB's awkward in that his team can't fight while he wants to fight. Basically its a pretty crappy draft with only 1 route to success, that is stomping the laning phase.

We found the problem guys!

Rather
Arteezy vs team that plays mediocre: 0-2
Arteezy vs team that plays bad: 1-0

EG that drafts their carry a support and does nothing late game 0-2
EG that drafts their carry a hero that can even be called a semi-carry at worst 1-0

They made their wins for 3-4 months with mason/fear on semi carries so I don't know what those games of veno/tide were.

I assume scheduling is all sorts of fucked up. There's a huge delay and the teams are jetlagged because they arrived just a couple hours before the games started. They still have 2 matches to go and day 2 is supposed to start in 9 hours. Fnatic seems to be getting fucked over quite hard. They play the last match tonight and the second match tomorrow. I wonder how much sleep they will get.

tbh I'm wondering how much of it was not being mean enough. At some point you need to say look get in the room, set up your stuff, you are playing in 10 minutes. Leave after you lose.

some of the team setups were 40-50 minutes long - I get that they're going for a relaxed friendly atmosphere but shits gotta move

Maybe it isnt a fault of BTS but they are way behind schedule and now it is really late and all the players are tired I'm sure. They should have given more time to the group stage.

They also scheduled an EU team for the last 2 slots, which is plain stupid.

They kicked the day off with like a 30-40 min delay, and it has compounded from there. I think their schedule for day 2 is less congested so hopefully its better.

I personally wouldn't phrase it so abrasively, but I definitely agree with the sentiment.

I feel like the CN teams should have played later and the Euros should have played earlier, if at all possible. Try to minimize the effect of time zone differences and stuff.

edit: and I look dumb right now, didn't realize the International Date Line makes China ahead of the US instead of behind.

There was no way 12 bo1s in one day was ever gonna work out. Especially if you schedule 75 minutes for one game and allow teams to take up to 40 minutes to set up. They probably didn't have any alternatives tho, making the event a day longer probably isn't an option, etc. Right now we're exactly 2 hours 30 minutes late. That's not too bad honestly, it could've been worse.
