Valve has decided on the tournament format that they feel balances well between entertainment value and fairness and this is their decision. This double elimination format with a tweak in the final ( not the usual double elim). If it is purely just to get a deserving winner, they should have done a league format between all 16 teams. So this double elimination is already the wrong format from the start if this was indeed the goal. | ||

Only Mickey Mouse joke tournaments do that. Nobody is 'entitled' to win a tournament just because everyone thinks they deserve it | ||
