What is the reason for this difference between snipers in lower skilled games and higher skilled games? Why is he sometimes such a terror in pubs but hardly ever seen in competitive? Why the difference in opinion on shrapnel? | ||

The short version is that early Take Aim is most popular and least bad at low levels, Headshot is most popular at high levels but not effective at any, and Shrapnel is both unpopular and effective at all levels. It's my personal opinion that during the laning phase the 3rd and 4th points of Take Aim are a crutch for players with poor spacing. | ||

What is the rational behind shrapnel being the better skill build rather than the 2 passive max build; what does the shrapnel max gain you? I get that if you just max the passives you're more susceptible to people jumping on you and killing you, which i understand is gonna happen more the better players are. However, what are you really gaining by maxing shrapnel? It seems like it hurts your midgame a bit for the price of some safety from ganks, but this could be from my lack of knowledge/experience. Are the styles different between the two builds? Generally the take aim/headshot builds go like shadowblade>Maelstrom>deso or just shadowblade>deso and push. With the max shrapnel builds, what are you doing in the midgame? | ||
